Good luck :) It sounds like you have the most important tool for quitting already -- a real desire to quit!
My ex quit while we were together because I'm allergic to smoke too (not as bad as JB but definitely an unpleasant effect).
He tried taking Welbutrin and he said it sort of helped. His biggest problem was what to do with his hands if he wasn't smoking and the social effects that all of his friends were smokers and you really can't be around a bunch of smokers and quit (successfully).
So maybe you can give some thought about what to do with your hands over the weekend before it hits you if that's a potential problem for you (he was very fidgety and had ADHD and so it was a big deal... but he was smoking almost 1.5-2 packs a day when he quit).
I'm sort of surprised how many people I've run into lately with a smoke allergy. My brother's girlfriend has one, too. But I'd never even heard of it before I met JB.
Carrots! Chewing carrot sticks is my plan. Gives me something to do with my hands and mouth, and won't make me put a load of weight on. Though they might turn me orange. XD
*hugs* And aside from the allergies, I watched both grandparents die pretty horrific deaths due to smoking. I'd like to see you around and healthy for the next sixty years. >.<
best of luck to you - it's so very important to quit now.
my mom died of lung cancer this summer, at age 65, after smoking moderately for 51 years. I'm 34 years old and dammit, I'm not *ready* to not have my mom around.
quit now. do whatever it takes, get whatever help you can - you've got a damn good reason to do it now - go for it.
And I'm so sorry about your mom -- there is no age at all where it's easy to lose a parent. Though I am glad you got to have her around for thirty-four years, even if that doesn't feel like much.
You are my hero and I love you. You are brave and strong, willing to face yourself and take addiction by the horns and defeat it. I'm proud of you, I believe in you, and I'm so, so glad you are taking this step, because I want you here forever, too.
If it helps with the writing, let's make Genma and Raidou give up smoking >.>

There was the odd time, for me, when holding a cigarette helped me. Soothed some of the muscle memory stuff, without the nicotine hit.
Good for you for trying to quit. I believe you can.

Huh. I'm not sure I could do that right now without being able to spark up. But it's something to bear in mind.
Thank you.

*salutes* That is my plan, oh yes.

*laughs!* And give them MORE issues? I'm not sure they'd ever forgive us. Though it'd be kind of hilarious if someone lectured them about it.
