Having been chemically dependent on pain medication for several years, I know how hard it is to quit something your body thinks it needs. I was under the supervision of doctors for my detoxing, and I probably would never have been able to get off the meds otherwise. I don't envy your coming trials. The best, absolute best of luck to you.
Oh wow -- I think shaking pain medication as a addiction would be much harder than stopping smoking. Serious congratulations on getting through that and coming out the other side. And thank you for the support! It means a lot. :)
*hugs really tight* Like the other commentors here, I'm so glad you're taking this step. I hope you can find good ways to deal with the effects. (I bite my nails when I'm stressed--have for almost 20 years--and I've found that playing with a pen or something is a good way to keep my hands busy and out of my mouth. Something like that may be helpful for you.)
*hugs back!* Thank you, seriously. (I used to bite my nails when I was a kid, but they're far too strong now. I have scarily strong nails. I'd probably chip a tooth if I tried. XD And my plan is to chew carrot sticks! People keep suggesting that to me, and it seems like a good idea.)
*ponders* I'd like a Firedrake drabble, please! Something with lots of action and coolness, and a touch of teammates/comraderie. :D That would be AWESOME.
