There's going to be more of this, yes? A nice mix of humor ("one Death eater, slightly used") and edge ("the rush that was almost better than an orgasm"). These are two characters who don't automatically mix well and I'm very curious to see how the water settles in the glasses, if you know what I mean.

Part two just posted. It's proving interesting, since they're not quite going where I'd envisioned, but it's a fun ride.

I'm gonna ask first... where is Sev???

and this is something I didn't think would work..but it does....

*g* Glad it's working! I wasn't sure if I could pull off this pairing, but I really like the Malfoy/Weasley combo, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Severus probably won't come into this story, but Remus bought him. He agrees with Hermione that enslaving the Death Eaters sets a bad precedent, but he suspects there was more to Snape than everyone was told, and he felt sorry for him--plus, he'll have someone to make the Wolfsbane Potion.

I like where this is going very much :-)

(And Harry and Ginny bought Draco?! ::dirty mind goes into overdrive::)

Thanks! Yeah, Harry and Ginny bought Draco, but I'm afraid they're having a bit of a hard time with him--though Ginny's starting to think there may be ways he can be more useful...

This is so good. I'm really impressed with the language and the flow, and the imagery is so clear.

Making Light (the weblog of Tor editors Teresa & Patrick Nielsen Hayden, and writers John M. Ford and James MacDonald) has been having an extremely long discussion about fanfic. Lot of intelligent, well-spoken people, and it's generating more light than heat. [Don't feel driven to read it all; it's more than novel-length at this point, with over 500 comments]

Somebody just asked about RPF. You've written some of the best explanations of RPF that I've read: pointing out the distinction between obvious fiction and tabloid speculation posing as truth, pointing out the difference between actors selling their persona v. the royal family born to it, etcetera etcetera.

I know you've rehashed this more times than you care to, but would you be willing to get into the discussion and share your POV. If not, can you point me to some of your better posts on the subject and give me permission to crib them (or link to them) to make those points?

Thanks.

I've been half-following that--I read ML anyway--but I'd missed the RPF thing. I did comment, but I don't know if I'm going back, because it already looks like it's headed for disaster. Whenever people drag out the "They're not your puppets!" argument, I tend to stop paying attention.
