But seriously Dan, the point I'm trying to make here is this.

Right now? You just have to accept the fact that people are stupid. I know it's hard to do, but look at it this way: People have been this stupid since the beginning of time. The only reason we advance is because out of the millions and billions of idiots out there, there are maybe four or five fantastically brilliant people out there as well, and THEY can change the world and make it a better place. You can't stress yourself out desperately trying to have faith in the general populace, because they never have changed that much and they never will. What you must do, is place your faith in those that would see the human race advance, and hope that their contributions affect the world so profoundly that even the low and the dim are better off than they were before.
