And the medical adventures continue...

So for those of you who don't know already, I received great news at my six-month CAT scan checkup a couple of weeks ago: the bones in my neck have now fully fused. That only means that I'm recovered from the accident, not the surgery (funny how that works,) but at least they said I look good enough to not need to come back. I was excited and went ( Read more... )

In a month or so, once I can wear the small one for six hours straight without pain, I can start wearing that one in my sleep and that won't be so bad. The big robocop one is only 90 minutes a day, so that's not terrible either...it's only one wrist and I got pretty good at typing one-handed over the summer, but I'm afraid this damn thing might be too big and awkward to lay on my desk while I type with the other hand.
You can see the little one any weekend. I'll bring the badass one by at some point, but it has a huge carrying case and everything so I pretty much told the chick that Saturdays and Sundays are going to be exempt from this little daily routine, because I don't want to carry it over.

Did your brother, by chance, have Ewing Sarcoma?
I had a friend who had that, had complained of back pain numerous times, the cancer was overlooked, and, well, they didn't treat it in time.

Oh baby, that's totally me. Only I've discovered that the thing weighs a good 5 pounds (I'm supposed to sit with it propped up on a pillow) so carrying it around would probably start to hurt after 15 minutes or so.
Thanks for the pictures though!

Well, that doesn't sound very fun.
I still find it interesting how one moment can do so much damage.
One thing I learned from the ME's Office is how easy it is to die. It makes you wonder why you're still alive, you know.
Anyway, at least you have a Halloween costume.

And my mom called about the heat. Hopefully they will turn it off soon, and the people who are cold can get extra blankets and get over it.
