He's dreaming of orchids. Huge, colorful flowers hang over his head. Their fragrant smell is overpowering, and he feels dizzy. He doesn't want to leave the flowers, but something is pulling on him, dragging him away...He wakes up, still dizzy, and squints at the bright lights in the ceiling. How did he end up here? And where is here? Last thing he

There was a girl in the mirror that wasn't her. But she was. But she wasn't. There was a red smear on her face, and in her hand there was a long bloody knife. She was wearing dark clothes and huge, clunky shoes - how where those comfortable?
This mirror made her - what? Angry? Curious?
She reached out to touch it.
The girl in the mirror smiled and raised her free hand up -
And the mirror shattered.
Irene fell through, and wondered for a second if this was what Alice felt like, going through the rabbit hole. Except it's not a long fall, and it's not wonderland - it's a hospital?
And there's screaming.
Irene gets up instantly. The scream comes again. What's going on?
She runs in the direction of the screams.

And... ringing?
There's a phone in his room and it's ringing. The doctor answers it. Words are exchanged. The conversation can't be longer than half a minute, but for Caspar, it feels like a lifetime.
The doctor sighs and hangs up the phone. "She's escaped. There are more of them now, on the other floor. Come on, Mr. Tweeling will have to wait."
The doctor and the nurse file out of the room, shutting the door behind them. "Wait -- Hey, WAIT! You can't leave me here! I don't belong here!"
Well. This is marginally better than being electroshocked, but now he had to deal with the dread that they'll return.

There's a gurney not a few feet away from her. It's covered in a cloth, so she dives for it, then quickly crawls under it.
The two aren't expecting to see anyone under there, nor are they looking for anyone. They pass, talking quietly about things, and once they're gone, Irene scoots out from underneath the gurney, heading for the door they came out of.
Before she opens the door, though, she says quietly "Don't scream! I'm a friend - don't worry."
Did they lock the door? She can't remember. How likely is it for a bound man to escape, though?

Caspar peers towards the door as best he can. There's a name on the tip of his tongue, but he's obviously surprised at who is at the door. His eyes are wide, like a frightened animal's. He doesn't know who this is, but she doesn't look like a staff member, and that's good enough for him. "Please, Miss, you have to untie me! It's not safe here!"
