last night i was playing on a .50/1 NL table, having come to the table with $65, my typical buy in for a $100 max buyin.

My fourth hand in, i got JJ on the button. One person before me who had $250ish on the table limped in for a $1, so the pot was $2.50. I raised to $4.

small blind and big blind fold. Limper then raises all-in.

Yeah, an unknown at a .5/1 NL table I would definitely call too with JJ there. Too many people are screwing around, or learned "all-in" from TV and overdo it with their aggression. Plus, unless the guy plays really weird, he rarely has a big hand - most people that limp AA in late position to slowplay continue to slowplay after a raise.

I love having these type of people at my table, even though the variance can be pretty high :)

right. i didn't put him on anything spectacular, otherwise he would have played stronger to begin with or slow played a lot more. that was the clue to me that he was just being erratic, wanting to gamble now that he knew it was just me and him.
