It's been some time since I read and re-read this book. It was because of the Celtic element that had me ansy to read this book.

Friend of mine on a book group had sent Talon's web page in a thread. This was like a month before it was scheduled to be released the first time. They advised me to read Fantasy Lover and Night Pleasures before getting Night Embrace when it was released.

I'm so happy that they did.

Nick's so awesome. Especially around Acheron... but one of my favorite moments was when the Morrigan - my favorite among the celtic goddess - made an appearance.

Damn... I'm due to re-read this books again... but I can't since two or three books are at my on-line bro's. He "was" going to get them signed by her but he missed the signing. It would have been his third signing.

See as much as I love the Celts, I don't know much about their gods and goddesses, I only know a little about the Morrigan and now Camulus. Other than that I'm lost.

But I'd love to meet Sherri, she's become my new hero of fiction.

Hehe, I've been looking things up on the Celts for a long time now. Love The Morrigan.. Then there is Epona...

Now I won't say that I'm an expert and know ALL the celtic gods but I do know a few.

Sherri is the one who opened me up to paranormal. Now I just can't seem to get enough of it.

I'd love to get ahold of a book that has all the Celtic gods and goddesses listed with their history but I can't find one just yet.

I've always been into paranormal, supernatural and the just plain weird but it wasn't until I started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer that I got into vampires. I didn't even think to look up vampire novels either. The only vampire/romance books I had ever read were about a year ago when Nora Roberts wrote a trilogy with a vampire as a main character (along with a witch, sorcerer, shape shifter and a slayer). After that I craved more and stumbled across a site that listed authors who wrote vampire romance novels and Sherri's name caught my attention. I read the excerpts and frantically began searching in book stores for her books and viola! I became hooked!

I'd join a book club is they would read books like Sherri's but since they tend to frown on these books I keep my distance. The city I live it is rather large but if I announced that my guilty pleasure was reading Sherri's books, people would start accusing me of worshiping Satan or something equally stupid. Only my mother encourages me to read books that give my mind a work out ( ... )

I read the books out of order at first, so I was little lost in the d-h history parts of the story.

I believe you're right about the difference in eyes between Ash and Styxx. I haven't read far enough to know about Stryker, but I'll get there!

I was also struck by how many of the women in the series know each other in some way or form, friends, sisters, friend of friends, etc. Did anyone else wonder about that. Of course, again, I have yet to past Vane's story, so that may change.

Wonderful discussion, btw!

Yeah I read them out of order too but I'm all caught up now. It is rather amazing how all the women seem connected somehow. It rather backs up Ash's claim that one person's fate effects everyone around them, and that we are all connected somehow.

And the connection is still there in Vane's story ;)

The peeps are really nice, and there's no competition. Just showing off your work for people to read.

The Night Embrace discussion seems to have inspired all sorts of writing talk - neat! I love to write as well, but lately all I've wanted to do is read. (that's how I discovered Sherrilyn's work!)

Have to say my favorite character from NE wasn't Talon, but Sunshine. Sunshine is one of the more memorable heroines in my opinion- she's so fun and different. Grace and Amanda were nice as well, but they were your everyday sort of gal. Sunshine is so quirky. Flighty. But she still manages smart and strong-willed.

One of my favorite scenes is when she and Selena were giving Talon a once over as he lay across her bed, and then discussing his 'assets' as if he were a piece of meat. Now he knows how that feels, haha ( ... )

Oh I love Sunshine, she's just a very refreshing heroine. She speaks her mind about EVERYTHING and looks at sex with an open mind (like a guy in other words). She's a go getter and like you said quirky.

I've never read any of the short stories, so I wasn't sure what happens. Must get my hands on it.

If I still had that free Dark-hunter booklet, I'd send it to ya, I would! Fear the Darkness is another free short story which you can receive online just by signing up at her website.

I managed to get my hands on Fear the Darkness and I can't wait until Sherrilyn writes Nick's story. I think it just might be the most shocking one yet.
