Today I took myself up to the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Red Cross. After much confusion about which AmeriCorps branch I was affiliated with, if I had a DSHR number and where my records would be, it was determined that they were really happy to see my smiling face because I have already been trained in all of the things they are calling ( Read more... )

Tell me the process of how you were able to do so... and what did they require? Will you actually be doing "mass care," or what???

Check out the posts from Alyssa on Myspace. Also go to the local Red Cross (Portland's is by Emmanual Hospital, the Oregon Trail Chapter, 3131 N Vancouver.) Tell them that you are already certified in Disaster Services. They had me fill out a new DSHR application that has my info and certifications on it. That's all I know right now, let me know if you get more info!!
