Questing for service
Today I took myself up to the Oregon Trail Chapter of the Red Cross. After much confusion about which AmeriCorps branch I was affiliated with, if I had a DSHR number and where my records would be, it was determined that they were really happy to see my smiling face because I have already been trained in all of the things they are calling volunteeers for. (Yay AmeriCorps!!) So as soon as I get my records transfered from the National Area Chapter of the Red Cross and fill out a couple of new forms, I will be eligible and ready for immediate deployment to the Gulf. I can't wait! I've been "like a caged animal" (qouth my dad) since we found out how bad Katrina was. Now I'll get to help!!
