Communism is awesome, in THEORY

This past weekend, I went out camping for the first time in a long time, which was pretty sweet. Unfortunately, I apparently was unaware of the disposition of the people I was camping with. I agree with you that it's frustrating when people completely dismiss evolution with the "It's just a theory" argument, because there's nothing you can say to those people to make them understand just how completely ridiculous they sound.

At the same time, not all religions, not all Christians, and not all organized religions don't believe in evolution. I am a proud, unapologetic Christian. I believe in evolution. My church (ELCA Lutheran) has no official stance on evolution. Evolution is not a fundamental part of my religious life, and my belief in evolution does not undermine my faith in God.

Not telling you not to hate, but wanted you to know that we're not all willfully ignorant.

I appreciate that, I was raised Lutheran and can see where you're coming from. Unfortunately, one of the few downsides of living in a highly urbanized city is that it seems to distill peoples views of religion. Either being vehemently Atheist, devoutly evangelical or fundamental Christian, or some other intense religious belief, a majority of the people I know take it to a fairly extreme level and many times will exclude reason from the equation.

This tends to color my perspective, but it's nice to know there's people out there that can hold strong religious beliefs and it doesn't make them completely unreasonable.
