Chicken and Stock!!!

This weekend I got some meat from Stillman's Turkey Farm: oddly, no turkey, but I did get hot Italian lamb sausage, pork chops, and a whole chicken.

I roasted the whole chicken today using this simple recipe, and substituting two limes for a lemon. It came out amazing. I ate, literally, half the bird for dinner (that's about two pounds of chicken). ( Read more... )

That's a random experiment. The care you poured into the process above implies a deeper and more general love of food rather than simply being bit by 2008's bacon meme.

Oh, well you may have noticed in the previous post that I didn't *actually* use bacon but rather the rendered fat off a pulled pork I had smoked weeks prior. But, fair enough!

When I get my camera I will be documenting my cooking pretty thoroughly.

I got some kind of Sony cyber-shot. I received it as a gift so I'm not 100% clear on the model.

Their internet-tv spots are grade-a geek cooking (and easier to keep up with or catch up on)... your post made me think of their love of Sous Vide.
