Will (TV show)

So fandom, there's a show on TNT about William Shakespeare and Marlowe is AMAZING on this show and there's canon m/m and also tons of homoerotic subtextual m/m for the characters who are not yet canon bi (like s2 of Will if there is one better have him be more obviously bi). I watched this show because many of you recommended it to me (thanks again ( Read more... )

I've been meaning to check it out (because of my Shakespeare/Marlowe love and all that), but I get distracted with other shows. It sounds like I should see it soon.

It's not at all historically accurate and it doesn't try to be, but yeah, it's pretty slashy. Though Marlowe's relationships with his boyfriends are of course the slashiest.

I can ignore historical inaccuracy in favor of fun (like with Reign) and slashy goodness xD

I've seen it advertised, it looked intriguing, I'll see if I can't find a copy somewhere.

It has lots of pretty men with full lips dealing with repression and guilt and angst and then being naked. I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed the show, sadly I've read, that there will be no second Season. :(

Well Will is kind of a dick and it's not historically accurate but if you want a squishable Marlowe and like that the show is a lot like fanfic, it's pretty great.

From what I've seen there's been a lot of comments about how far from what life would have been like for Shakespeare and the inaccuracies shown.

It doesn't even attempt to be historically accurate - it has modern pop music, etc. It's like going to a production of Shakespeare that mishmashes different time periods but it's slashy fanfic about Shakespeare's life. If you're looking for melodramatic fun, which I am, it's good, but yeah, it would be awful if you mostly want historical accuracy.
