The Louisville, KY/southern Indiana area were hit by hurricane-like winds (at one point, they were measured at 75 mph), a remnant of Hurricane Ike. It caused a 60-foot tree to fall on my house, taking out the spare bedroom and the bathroom. The house is unlivable. The governor has declared the area a disaster area. If the president does, also, then FEMA will come in and replace/repair the house for free.

Of course, that may not happen until 2012 or so.

Whitney's mom owns the property, so I'm letting her deal with the insurance company.

We're staying with her folks in a town called Salem, which is a good 30 miles from anywhere.
