Good: Bought new glasses and a mattress (my old one is close to 35 y/o.  it's about damn time).  I got v. good deals on both with rocking vision coverage from my insurance for the first, and a massive sale to make the second good.

Bad: Have been late for work 2 days in a row.  Today I even had a class that i was supposed to be attending at 8, and ( Read more... )

i know, i know. i also fudged a little on how much they cost because i'm a little embarrased, but they are adorable. I tried clothes on for about 45 minutes straight (so no sitting in between), and was wearing them the whole time. also (and this is a true fact, not some bs i'm making up to make up for how much they cost) higher quality heels are stronger, and (duh) higher quality with better support, which makes them more comfortable than cheap spindly heels. The heels are smidge (1/2") higher than i'm used to wearing all day comfortably.

but yeah. i'm so torn between the money guilt and the beauty, but i did get rid of shoes recently, and haven't bought any in months...so i don't feel too bad

They're cute, they're classic, they're well-made, they'll probably go with a lot of outfits, AND THEY'RE COMFORTABLE. God, if shoes are truly comfortable, I always vote yes.

So despite how I voted, I would actually say it's OK to buy shoes at that price if you're planning to buy only one pair of shoes every couple years. I think $50-100 per year on dress shoes and $50 on athletic/casual shoes should be the average per year. (Yes, I said year.)

Those are the kind of shoes I caress lovingly before putting them back on the shelf... I didn't know how to vote on that last one. I say give them a week, either way. And then update us. ;o)

aha, i filled out your poll, THEN looked at the subject line. i was going to say, AT LEAST THEY'RE NOT DRUGS, but realistically, i support the purchasing of such things if you can afford it, and it doesn't increase your debt by a significant amount. what can i say, i love shoes.

if you keep them, you have to wear the fuck out of them.
