Here are the reasons:

1) No more work for a week and a half.  And I'm only taking one vacation day.
2) That's right - the DOM is sending me to the best conference ever, and paying for my meals and hotel and registration.  What what!
3) That's right.  ALA.  Can you say free books?
4) Free books!
5) I get to room with two awesome ladies

true story: i was just doing the majority of my packing, and i had gotten everything in with a bit of room to spare.

then i remembered where i was going, and changed my suitcase to something a little roomier for the return trip. :)

Yeah, I'm in a world of hurt for the return trip, because I had to pack for a week in Chapel Hill, a week at the beach and ALA. I have no extra room. I might have to avail myself of the shipping in the exhibit hall.
