I always get very nervous everytime I have to pose for a photo - especially for print ads or magazine features. I'd much rather be thrown unprepared on national/international live TV, than pose for a photo. I just feel it's not my forte. but really, photography fascinates me alot. when i was younger, i saw 2 broken SLRs that belonged to my dad and i wanted to ask him to give them to me so i can have them checked in Quiapo if it's still redeemable but alas, he says it's not with him anymore :(

i was born and got my elementary education in manila. we were raised in primarily an english-speaking household (my grandmother was ilongga). i learned tagalog through my playmates and spoke it well eventually.
i don't think everyone in Manila can go on live TV and speak Tagalog straight - the way the news anchors do. let alone someone who spent half her life outside the country. that's what I mean....
when I'm in a panic - scared, frazzled, late, harrassed, in an emergency - I forget Tagalog words. so instead i stick to english.
nothing against Tagalog. i converse well... and proud to say with no Balikbayan twang. its just not good enough for live television the way Korina, Karen and Ces speak.

just like English. even if you're good at speaking English, not everyone can go oncam and speak the way broadcasters do.
same with Tagalog. street-speak is different for TV-level

She seemed intimidating at first (say natin sa ganda at tangkad ni lola?), but then it got all better as she pressed the shutter of her big camera, haha. Hers was indeed HUGE. Wala lang, sharing lang. Photoshoots are my hyperrealities, if you ask me.
Going back to your blog, I must say that you look ferosh in those fab jewelry. Love the hair, love the face! You need not be afraid of the camera, Miss Daphne. As my friends and I say: Ganda at kabog factor lang iyan!
