Sounds like more propaganda being spread by the Big Three. I really don't think there would be a collapse of the auto industry. I think foreign auto makers would buy up parts of the Big Three. Collapse? No. Erosion? Yes.

I do, however, agree with the fact that even an erosion of the Big Three would have a major affect on the overall economy of the U.S. That's also what pisses me off when auto workers go on strike. They don't stop to think that it not only affects their employer, but also affects suppliers and so on. And, not only that, but there are area businesses who's incomes depend on the auto workers being at work - restaurants, convenience stores and such. Plus, each time the auto worker go on strike, the auto maker looses money not only due to lost production time, but they have to work out some kind of deal with the striking auto workers to get them to come back to work. And that usually means paying the workers more money or increasing their benefits or whatnot.

But, that's just my opinion.

Oh, and another thing. If the Big Three executives want the government to take pity on them and loan them billion$ to save their struggling companies, them maybe they should sell off their private jets and take that money, along with the millions they make in compensation each year and put it back into their companies.

Gee... okay... The Big Three each flew to D.C. to tell Congress they were out of money and wanted a "loan"... each on private corporate jets. Three Jets, traveling to the same place, at the same time, for the same purpose... Then all this "please help us" ad propaganda... I wonder, seriously, how much this video you just posted cost ( ... )

Oh. The Nail on the head.

What everyone should say to themselves when they face economic crisis.

"It's not what we want, but what we need that counts"

Yeah, Kat and I, barring some miracle, aren't expecting presents from each other. If it comes to paying our bills or buying guitar hero for PS2, paying our existing bills and working thriftily on a very limited budget is the only thing important.

You know, there was a time when unions were actually needed but that time has passed. Unions were started to improve workplace safety and improve the general conditions in the workplace and to give workers a better quality of life - better pay, insurance benefits, paid time off and so on. NOW there are federal laws protecting workers, so there really is no need for unions. (Hopefully there are no mob bosses reading this)

Oh, and there was something in the news the other day that the execs of the Big Three petitioned the FAA to keep it hush-hush when they fly around in their private jets. I guess they didn't appreciate all the flack they were getting in the media.
