I don't think so, no. As long as you were keeping everything G-rated (no graphic porn in comment, not like I would have expected that of you), I can't see why pointing out another fan view is inappropriate. But, then again, homophobia is always in style. :(

See, all I implied was Eli would eventually pine after Scott, especially through the eyes of slashers (so, pretty much in fic, etc). Nothing graphic, completely honest fact about how SG fandom operates.

Apparently, for these people anything pointing out any FLAWS of SGU is 'inappropriate behavior'. You can only participate if you LOVE the show...all outside opinions need now apply. Of course MINE wasn't pointing out a flaw, just a fandom fact. Still...

Ugh. These people definitely aren't worth talking to. Even if you were pointing out a flaw, there's no reason why you can't love a show and still be aware of its shortcomings.

And it was actually one of the two eps I very much ENJOYED so far, and I SAID that...but I say one thing 'outside the perfect SGU bubble' and I get in 'trouble'.

See, what I think makes the whole situation as volatile as it is for people that don't just fall with swoonage over SGU is that Brian's mom is involved EVERYWHERE in this. That only breeds trouble.

Not saying she doesn't have a right to interact and enjoy with fellow SGU fans and I sympathize with her over those jackasses bad mouthing her. But that DOESN'T make her entitled to hate all of us who give an honest to god opinion about SGU.

WHAAAT!? Dude, I'm not even a slasher and that comment wouldn't have bothered me at all. But you know what bothers me? HOMOPHOBIA. I know I'm stereotyping here, but so far, my experience with SGU fans hasn't been the best. They just seem so... I don't know. Touchy. About EVERYTHING. Maybe I've been mixing with the wrong bunch of people, but that's the impression I've been getting.

Oh, no no...the HARDCORE, HOE-MG SGU IS SO AMAZING AND IS THE GREATEST STARGATE EVAR AND THOSE PREVIOUS STARGATES ARE LIKE SOOO STUPID are definitely touchy! They think they are SO entitled to WALK ALL OVER EVERYONE that doesn't agree with them because they were badmouthed by some SGA fans (not saying what those SGA fans did was right, but it's a part of fandom!)? Get over yourselves and grow up. Fandom is a very unstable place at times - a 'gunfight' could break out at any moment. Just suck it up and learn to be the RIGHT kind of people in fandom where those of us, even if opinions differ, get ALONG!

That wasn't the only thing they kinda called me out for...I was also debunking some of the science in the ep we were watching and some of them took offense to that. If they knew ME, I do that with SG-1 too. If there's a mistake or flaw, I POINT IT OUT. But NOOOO, SGU is PERFECT and there's NOTHING wrong with it! *rolls eyes* Ignorance really must be bliss.
