I've just received an email from college which informed me that my Esthetic II final, which was tomorrow, has been rescheduled to December 17th...what a relief!I mean, a part of me thought "Wtf?!I just want to sit for it and get over it, now I'll have to wait a week more for that to happen!", but that extra week equals more time to understand ( Read more... )

Well, congrats on being legal! :D What's your parents opinion about that? And why the law was changed? In Poland you are legal when you finish 18 too.
How long, anyway, do you have till 21?

I love such unexpected surprise like rescheduling a test, though, it's always better to just write it and be done with it till the results ;)

Your cooking looks tasty :)

My Mom has already offered herself as my guarantor in case I wanna move out and rent, and showed me a webpage of a travel agency with special packages to Uruguay, so I guess she's...happy? Supportive?Wants me out of the house?xP Whereas my Dad went mute while reading the news on the paper...obviously he didn't like this at all, because it means his tirany/parental control is over (or almost)...the only thing that made him happy about this change was the alimony part, as that would mean at least one issue less to resolve in the trial...I'm turning 20 in March 13th, so I wasn't that far from being legal anyway, but this will certaintly bring some changes in the family dynamic (positive ones, I expect).
I really dunno why, though I guess it's related to the fact that young people are expected to work as soon as they finish highschool to contribute to the family economy, and their contribution can be quite substancial, so why not make them legal after all?

They could have informed you earlier about the rescheduled final... Anyway, gives you more time to prepare for it :)

Haha, and congrats on having become suddenly and unexpectedly of legal age! When did they change this?

Yup, I guess they could, but after going through this more than once, you get used to it. Besides, I believe that in this particular case is the lecturer's fault...she tends to call off classes/finals at the last minute¬¬
Yesterday, so it's not a scoop, but almost!:P

I would like that recipe, you could face book message it to me unless you just want to post it on here. Also, that is silly for the legal age to have been 21, you are legal in the us as soon as you turn 18 and curfew ends at 17. What is/was the drinking age over there?

No prob, I'll facebook message it to you:)
The drinking age has always been 18, and we don't have curfew (at least, not in Buenos Aires), so for most people it's not a big change. It signifies the world to me because of my particular situation (i.e. parents divorced and a uber strict father), that's all.

Yup, most countries have their legal ages at 18, so I guess this law was made so that we look more open-minded, like a First World country, lol:P
