TUTORIAL: Illustrated Guide to posting to Daniel_Vala
How to post a link to your Daniel/Vala story here at daniel_vala.
Click for the illustrated step-by-step guide. Lots of BIG PICTURES.
1. At the top of the daniel_vala community Home page, click the link that says "Post to this community". (You need an LJ account and must first join daniel_vala in order to post.)
2. After the posting page loads, make sure that the "Post to" field says daniel_vala .
Then enter your story header by typing it in or pasting. (I prefer pasting into the HTML window because it doesn't act weird. You can switch back to Rich Text after pasting.)
3. You need to have another browser tab or window open so that you can surf to the page you want to link to. Select & copy the URL (web address) of your story (or the one you're pimpin')
4. Select the text you want to turn into a link.
Then click the icon that has a blue globe with a chain link on it.
A popup window will appear where you'll paste in the URL and then click OK.
w00000t! OPTIONAL: You can go LINK CRAZY! Make lots of links! Make links out of any text! You can have every link go to the same URL, even!
5. For extra searchability, you can add extra stuff such as tags! (Mood, location, and music for extra fun.)
Here's the HTML you can copy-paste into your LJ for a story header that links to a Daniel/Vala story:

PS: The story you're linking to can be hosted anywhere (LJ, AO3, FanFiction.net, any of the Stargate fiction archives, your personal website, whatever!) Please make sure it's not password-protected or Friends-Locked so that everyone can read it.
PPS: You can also post YOUR OWN entire story in a daniel_vala entry (break the really long ones into chapters because of LJ's character limit) but make sure to use an LJ-cut so that it doesn't stretch over severals screenfuls on our Recent Entries page or your Friends' Friends Pages. :)
