Hard to forget

"You let out a sigh. 'I saw Yoochun," you said suddenly. And then Yunho went silent."

Changmin’s expression was priceless; he couldn’t believe what you just had said. You could understand why though; after all you were like this too when you found out.<
And now you were debating if you should tell Yunho or not.
Your boyfriend was telling you that you should tell him. He was your best friend after all and he should know about this, and you agreed with him somewhat. (Partly because of the fact that if you didn’t then you were going to pay for this in the most painful way…)
But you also thought about that phrase: Eyes that don’t see, heart that doesn’t feel.
But then again you knew that your friend was going to find out sooner or later, especially after he said that he might call him one of these days. He should be prepared for it.
“I don’t think that I should tell Yunho,” you said biting your lower lip, sitting on the kitchen counter with your arms crossed over your chest.
Then the sound of the door being open interrupted the long silence and Yunho entered the kitchen, saying hi to you and Changmin. It was cold outside so the first thing that he did was help himself to a cup of hot chocolate that you and Changmin had made and were drinking.
He took a seat next to your boyfriend at the table, talking about things that you weren’t really paying attention to. Changmin wouldn’t stop glaring at you and then Yunho. You knew what those glares meant.
You let out a sigh. “I saw Yoochun,” you said suddenly.
Your friend went silent. Changmin was looking directly at him. He wanted to see his reaction like you did, but Yunho’s expression was just unreadable.
“Oh…” was the only thing he said, taking a sip from his mug.
“He asked me about you. I told him that you were doing fine, that you already had someone else…”
He chuckled.
It was true after all. Or at least that’s what you thought since he wouldn’t stop talking about that Junsu boy that he met when he was studying in Japan.
“He also told me that he might call you one of these days,” you said walking to the table and sitting in the chair that was left.
You were ready to move on into another subject when he spoke. “If you see him again, tell him that I won’t answer his call. That indeed I am okay now but I don’t want to talk to him.”
You nodded.
“Tell him that I’ve never been better and that I no longer need him by my side.” He laughed a little. “He must think that I can’t live without him, which is not true.”
He shifted in his chair. “Actually, I appreciated the fact that he ended our relationship. If this didn’t happen then I never would have gone to Japan and met Junsu…so in the end I’m grateful for it.”
And now it was your turn to laugh, followed by Changmin’s.
“Ok… if I see him again I’ll tell him that,” you said nodding again.
And yes… you were going to lie for your best friend because you knew that even if he was telling you all those things he really didn’t mean them. You could see that in his heart there was still something from Yoochun.
That he wasn’t really ok. That he was still hurt.
But Yunho was a strong person and you knew that in the end his heart would heal and Yoochun would be something from the past.
He was going to be happy (maybe with Junsu). He deserved that after all.
“I have to go,” he said after a moment. “Junsu and I are going to the movies; I was supposed to be at his house ten minutes ago,” he said getting up and looking at his wristwatch. “He’s going to kill me.”
He said good bye to you and Changmin, took his keys and his jacket and opened the door, but you didn’t hear it being closed.
He walked into the kitchen again and looked at you. “You know what?”
You put your attention into whatever he was about to say.
“If you see Yoochun again… just tell him that you haven’t seen me.”
And he left.
