Apologies. I realize that this LJ turned into The Outsiders zone lately. But I have gone mad for it the way I haven't for any drama since Mars. And I only have five and a half eps left so it will be over realtively soon :)

Also, because I don't want to scare people off watching it, it's angsty but not depressing in the least. So go watch! :)

4 1/2 more episodes and you can go back to pretty people angsting and beautifully and gracefully kicking butt and rest assured that they fly off into the sunset together at the end.

LOL. Five and a half, but yeah.

The thing with The Outsiders is that I am going to try to figure out how to get The Outsiders 2 subbed, secure in the knowledge that as the midquel, at least no one will kick the bucket in this one, from the two otps :)

Oh yeah, this is probably the most complicated drama I've watched in...ever.

Seriously, I am totally grateful to you for mentioning it because otherwise I would have never checked it out.

Dan Zi is still probably my favorite, though, because he is such a thinker, which I find terribly appealing.

He is a total thinker and in RL I'd go for him, out of all of them (well, if the choice was only limited to them. I generally prefer bfs without mob connections :D). But in a drama, I am (unsurprisingly for me) am all about the most messed-up, contradictory one.

he sees his world in very clear absolutes, which doesn't fly in this mafia underworld.Exactly. His virtues are actually his weaknesses. I think his black-and-white view would have caused him problems in any sort of life, but in the mob it's fatal (see him help Xiong Guh, because that is what 'brothers' do. I am sure Xiong Guh would have no problem selling him out in two seconds flat if needed). That is not the way to run a mob. (He was drawn to it against his will but that isn't the case for the rest of the guys in it, after all ( ... )

Yeah, he did. But I can't blame him, really, because he thought it was Yu Yen (seriously, what is wrong with the Mainland Girl. Do you really want to do it with a guy who keeps calling his girlfriend's name?)

I want to stab her in the face.

I remember watching Mars(OMG I've got to stop comparing!!) and when he slept with some random girl but then he went back to Qi Luo...reminds me of that...
...now I really really hate Mainland girl:(
