The Outsiders: ep 15 ramble

Jul 01, 2007 15:27

Apologies. I realize that this LJ turned into The Outsiders zone lately. But I have gone mad for it the way I haven't for any drama since Mars. And I only have five and a half eps left so it will be over realtively soon :)

Also, because I don't want to scare people off watching it, it's angsty but not depressing in the least. So go watch! :)

Thoughts on ep 15:

Oh Goddammit. I am barely five minutes into episode 15 and I am sobbing.

Stop doing it to me, drama. Because Ah Hao is completely drunk, and the annoying mainland girl goes looking for him and she finds him and asks if he is OK (lady, he is on the floor, crying. Chances are, no he isn't). And he is so out of it and so drunk that he actually sees her as Yu Yen and he starts saying Yu Yen's name and when he looks up at her and is all 'you've finally come, Yu Yen' and he is crying and smiling at the same time, like a temporary reprieve from hell, I...

GOD.

And she gets him to her place and the whole road he keeps saying all these things that Yu Yen should hear, dammit, not this stupid stranger, and he is sobbing to her how he is sorry, over and over, and that he joined to mob to protect her but he couldn't and begging her to forgive him etc etc and OMG. Seriously. This is meant for Yu Yen. ARGH.

They are in Mainlanf girl's house and hell. This will lead nowhere good.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

ETA: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!

*stab*

*die*

OMG. Now he is kissing her and they are on the bed and Lady. How about you stop him! You know, since the only words he is saying are 'Yu Yen, Yu Yen, Yu Yen' non-stop, chances are you are not the target of his affections.

ARGH.

STAB.

Mainland Girl just got promoted to my most hated 'other girl' ever. The tennis-chick of My Girl finally got dethroned.

ETA2: And he wakes up in the morning, and you can see him mildly panic and then he sees Xiao Die come out and she is bringing him water (he must have a hell of a hangover) and he really tentatively asks her 'Last night, did I...' and he sees confirmation on her face and UM. Devastation City Mark 2.

OK. Is one happy moment for the OTP in the remaining five episodes too much to ask? Please? What is this, kdrama? I want them cuddling and happy and sweet and hopeful, not falling apart into broken little pieces.

ETA3: OMG. After all of this, Ah Qi finds him in his office, throwing away every bit of liquor he can find and he is so incredibly subdued and then as soon as Ah Qi mentions Yu Yen's name, first thing he asks is if her foot it alright. For some reason, that got me more than anything, that in the middle of everything going to hell, all the huge stuff, he is still so mindful of such a tiny harm to Yu Yen (it's a mild sprain, that's it), she is still everything.

And I love when he comes home and he looks up at their apartment and he is so at a loss, because he is sorry and guilty and just...such a mix. And then he turns to walk away ARGHHHHH and Danzi sees him and they go walking and start talking and Danzi is all 'why are you walking away' and he asks him if it's because he minds that Yu Yen has been raped and so isn't 'clean' (AND OH that is so NOT it. It's his own guilt for night before and for all his other failures) and I love the look on Ah Hao's face because it hadn't even occurred to him. But I really love how Danzi is so awesome and gets his head on straight.

ETA 4: You know, there is something wrong with me. Danzi is the safe alternative. He is good-looking and smart and he takes really good care of Yu Yen (I wonder if part of the reason is because Ah Hao is so invested in Yu Yen, the hurt to her makes him fall apart and thus incapable of rational thinking. Parodoxically it's the scary amount of love that Ah Hao has for Yu Yen that makes him fail on the smooth sailing part, huh?) But I still don't care, I am still shipping Ah Hao/Yu Yen in all their painful, messed-up glory. Danzi and Yu Yen together would be calm and sweet and gentle but there wouldn't be this feeling of the whole world shaking around them as a result of completely out of control passion.

ETA 5: I really love the scene when he finally comes home. It's so quiet and peaceful and...*dies of the awesomeness of the OTP*

ETA 6: OMG. OK, crazy Mainland Girl. I fully admit that Ah Hao is incredibly gorgeous. He also saved your life and was kind to you. I will even go as far as to say that for all I know, he might be a champion in the sack so that one night was awesome. Still. LADY. You are turnin into a creep. She is all 'oh, Ah Hao loves Yu Yen. Maybe I should learn piano too. But I won't be as good as someone who played from childhood. [pause] they've known each other for years, but does it mean I have to give up?' Hello, scary delusional girl! You want to literally transform yourself into Yu Yen or something? He likes piano because Yu Yen played it, not likes Yu Yen because she played. UGH. STAB. Give it up. How about you repay his saving your life by stopping trying to butt into his?

And here are screencaps. Why, yes, they are mainly of Dylan Kuo.

OK, they are evil, but seriously, they give me the most amusing caps:

Still reacting to finding out Yu Yen was raped:

Xiao Die shows up and he thinks it's Yu Yen. OK, just looking at these caps is making me sniffle:

You can't see it because the cap is too small, but there are tears on his cheeks. I nearly died when I saw. I am such a girl! (sobby caps are hard. It makes people look like they are in a rubber-face contest):

Ah Hao pouring his heart out to Xiao Die thinking she is Yu Yen:

Morning after. Oh no (now he has a huge secret of his own, doesn't he?).

Seeing Xiao Die is there and realizing that...

OK. I know this is the worst 24 hours of his life and what not. But Oh My. How is it possible for anyone to be so gorgeous?

'Council of War' in Yu Yen's house:

In his office, remembering Xiao Die the morning after (and throwing away all his liquor) and Yu Yen and everything:

And Ah Qi is there:

*is dead*

Standing outside his house:

Talking with Danzi (I like the fence symbolism):

You go, Danzi! (He is seriously, the only well-adjusted character in this whole story!)

Yu Yen in the morning:

The cuteness of secondary OTP. It's so interesting. Ah Hao and Yu Yen's love is this epic, life-transforming thing. When they fight, they are half-dead, and when they love, it's a completely consuming thing. What Ah Qi and Hong Do have is nowhere near as incredible but it's a lot more manageable on an everyday scale. They might not have such highs but they don't have such lows either. It's a lot more 'human scale':

The awesome Danzi takes Yu Yen out for her to release all her unhappiness by screaming:

She is home, more at peace:

Ah Hao is home:
