That boat scene is probably one of the angstiest scenes out there. Precisely because both of them are so quiet and so not flaily with crying or screaming. It's the sort of hemmed in desperation and the very fact they don't express it much really kills me (I know they are rather different, but it reminds me of the the last meeting between the lovers on Brief Encounter, an amazing British movie from the 40s where they want to say so much and do so much but can't).
WASN'T KAME SO AWESOME?
Tattakoi really made me appreciate him. I am glad it was my first Kame exposure because in NwP (which I am still not done with, but probably will by next week. I like it but feel no urge to marathon), he is likeable enough but (IMO) very overshadowed by Yamapi but Tattakoi is sort of a Kame showcase (just as Kurosagi was Yamapi's) and the role fits him like a glove.
the Most Awful Break-up in Jdrama HistoryHmmmm, I never analyzed that, but I think you might be right. Not the most awful break up in drama history though because Silence and A Love to

I think I must move this up the watch list... I've seen the first ep, but didn't get right into in, in the "I must see the next ep. RIGHT NOW" kind of way, but always planned on finishing it... and now I must.
Tattakoi is rather quiet and it took me a bit to get used to that vibe but I found it very moving. And it has a happy ending which I never would have predicted which I started but which makes me incredibly happy!
That's one of the reasons I put a pause on it... after the Silence debacle, with all the omens of imminent death for SOMEONE that Tattakoi was sending out, I decided to wait to see how it ended before I invested myself in it... because angst is only good (for me) if there's a promise of something happy to follow.
Me too, actually. I put it on hold in the middle because I couldn't bear to see them get hurt (I still haven't watched the middle eps of Silence, even though I have them).
