OK, Prison Break and/or Queer As Folk. Yay or Nay? I am thinking of dling or Netflixing, but don't want to have a Felicity or Dawson's Creek mark 2 where they made my head hurt

Neither show has interested me enough to eventhink about checking them out. And this isbased on hearing people who love them go on quite a bit about them. Now, Veronica Mars and Supernatural...
Oh, I don't think I am going to fall in love with either (unlike SPN or VM, yay!) but I do want to give them a try, if for nothing else than to know what my flist is talking about....
Heh...I caved to that with "Lost" last year...didn't go well once the initial rush wore off. Veronica Mars, though...the only TV DVD that matches my anticipation of THAT one this year is seasons 4 & 5 of Remington Steele.
Prison Break, as there is a new season starting shortly, it is utterly awesome eye candy, pretty prettiness and gritty and yum.
While I really like QAF, it's definitely more soapy, and can be consumed at your leisure. I guarantee when you start Prison Break, you'll pretty much watch the first season as fast as humanly possible and be like YAY new shows!
QAF...can be caught up w/ at one's leisure. Is good but Prison Break is seriously teh shiny and yay new episodes.
And PB just came out on DVD last week. The set can be had for less than $40 and it is seriously, just action, cliffhanger, intense, fun wackiness. Total crack, and teh pretty is really...oh and the ANGST!
Swoon. And Doctor Sara! And Wentworth Miller has just about the most gorgeous face EVER and they light him very pretty (and sooooo angsty) and ... the manpain!
Looking at the other comments, it seems like a tie between the two shows. ;)
I watched the first episodes of Quaf and although I liked it, I just wasn't hooked. PB on the other hand sucked me right in. I watched the first season in two weeks and really enjoyed it. Unpleasant might be a good word to describe some episodes, though. It's not a fun show, the whole setting is sombre. But I really like it because it has a great cast and has been one of the most thrilling shows I have ever seen.
The thing is that I made her watch I think the first two and the riot episode and she wasn't really impressed. And she didn't care for the thrilling aspect. So the "sucked right in" effect didn't work for her.
I still wish I could get her over her dislike of La Femme Nikita because of the wrong name
Nope. No Femme Nikita. I actually only watched the riot two-parter. I didn't know who any of them were, so that probably made me detached. Am always bad coming into the middle. I am going to give it another try.
Odd, I thought you had seen the toe cutting one as well and that was episode 2.
Then Wentworth will probably grow on you, because the Riots episodes were good for Dominic, most other episodes he doesn't do much other than sit around (being on Death Row and all that), so the riots are really an unfairly good representation of his character.
PB has never snagged me. QaF, though . . . . mmmm, *cough* ahem. tere is more beyond eye-candy, and i was going to say no Incredibly Stupid Person as on Felicity, but then i remembered Michael. yeah, i tend to just block him out because he gets on my last nerve. that said, i love the show, so there has got to be something there to keep me going back for more (and his name is Brian i'm-an-ass Kinney).
my work here is done. have you gotten into House yet? not shippy as your usual fare seems to be (until the beginning of season 2 or you just read into the flashing red light of the subtext with Wilson and House), but the snark is wonderful!
:) I never watched House because BFF is a surgical resident and she says this show has nothing in common with real doctors. Still. That icon is mighty tempting...
