Wherein I discover cultural products of Korea, the tastiness of Pockys and the horrors of multiships

catdecember, oh catdecember, guess what I tried? Inspired by this mv which looked interesting (aka cute guys and angst), I tried Goong. For all of you who are not catdecember, Goong is a very melodramatic romantic drama about a girl betrothed to a Prince blah blah blah. Knowing how Korean movies usually end, I am a bit paranoid about the end but we'll see. I am actually interested ( Read more... )

Mmmm Pocky ..... You tread a slippery slope..... My addiction to the almond crush milk tea Pocky's has become unmanageable :)

Btw, sorry to everyone of flist who friended me because of BSG or Veronica Mars or Bollywood and is now seeing a stream of Asian entertainment (whether anime or jdorama) related stuff.

You and I should have a shared disclaimer... although I don't think my disclaimer could be any clearer :)

Heeee. Actually, your lj is one of my favorites precisely because I never know what might show up there next. But the Pocky addiction is all your fault. We had about an hour before we had to get on the train to the airport and when Mr. Mousie asked me what I wanted to do with it, I said 'can we go to Chinatown and get more Pockys?' Sadly, there was no time but I fear an addition is born. It's proof of my great love for him that I split the Pockys evenly with him and we ate two giant boxes in an evening. Maybe it's good I can't find them as they'd be murder on the waistline.

Well, I'm all Superman, all the time these days, so if I complained about your other fandoms it would be a sad case of the pot calling the kettle black!

Heeee. I really liked Superman. Not crazy in love with it (it seems I can't be crazy for anything unless it's over 5 hours long :P) but it really was excellent.

EEEEEEEEEE.

The episode made me love the twins even more. I'm honestly surprised Takashi didn't do something drastic, silly, dramatic, and ultimately self-defeating, really.

I made a neighborhood for me and a bunch of my friends from drunkoncheese, and the neighborhood's in serious need of some boys anyway... Heh. Then I can stop making so many random alien families. Hmmm....

Pocky icons!

I can't get it here, but I have friends in NY and Tokyo that send me care packages. I hoard the stuff like you wouldn't believe.

What type of thing are you interested in? Angst? Action? Romance? I adore House of Flying Daggers, movie wise, also Perhaps Love.

Perhaps Love is a lovely romantic movie musical. Chunghyang is lovely too (though a bit on the explicit side). I like Musa and The Promise and those kind of period fighting movies. Bichunmoo is good too.

As to anime, I'd rec Peacemaker, Rurouni Kenshin, Fushigi Yuugi, Full Metal Panic, Peach Girl (that one you have to dl as it's not out on dvd proper).
