I have just started on the Rurouni Kenshin movie and I adore it to bits! I used to be obsessed with the anime years ago and it's bringing all the memories back. More importantly, the actors just feel right as the characters!

As soon as I saw subs, I was on them like a madwoman and now my husband and I are both rolling in the awesomeness that is this movie.

I watched it last weekend. I liked it a lot, though while the way they arranged things resulted in a very strong movie, I felt that it somewhat sidelined Kaoru for a lot of it.

The movie takes most of the stuff from the first 7-8 volumes of the manga (I think roughly that period...I haven't read it in a while) and pretty successfully reworks it into a single plotline, plus some bits about Kenshin's past that don't come up until later. they could have used Aoshi, but I suspect they didn't so there wouldn't be that hanging plotline in case there wasn't a sequel. (I think it performed pretty well, but don't know about the possibilities of a sequel. If there is, I imagine it would be all the Aoshi-and-related stuff.)

Thank you Megan! Got a bit confused as to how Megumi makes an appearance without Aoshi cropping up. Guess they have changed the plot a bit. If there is a sequel, I imagine it'd be awkward inserting him, when he wasn't with the Oniwaban in the first place..

They don't really have the Oniwaban so much as...vaguely Oniwaban-like characters. i imagine that the sequel can have Saitou getting Kenshin to help him with something that leads him to Aoshi and co., and then segues into the familiar plot.

AsiaTorrents has the movie and subs. It's a membership only site (and membership is currently open), and you are required to seed as much as you download, but if you can manage that it's the best place I've found for Asian movies and various drama episode encodes that you can't find elsewhere.

the plotboxes comm on LJ also has it, though you have to download multiple parts and join them.
