Kenshin Kenshin Kenshin!!!!

I have just started on the Rurouni Kenshin movie and I adore it to bits! I used to be obsessed with the anime years ago and it's bringing all the memories back. More importantly, the actors just feel right as the characters!

Saw the film in our cinema, got lucky since my fellow countrymen are so mad-petitioning for its release! It was so awesome and a great standalone movie!!!! Actually had me in tears the first time I watched it.

Also, I read somewhere that Aoshi's character was fused into that of Hanya's, though I'm not sure if for the sequels (because it's been confirmed) they'll show another character introduced as Aoshi. I expect that in the next sequel there'll be more development for Kenshin/Kaoru 'cause I agree with you that she did get sidelined here with Megumi's plot.

Watched it at the cinema at the invitation of a friend, who knew nothing about it save that it was a big hit in Japan (I knew nothing of the story at that time too). Then, a second, third, fourth, fifth.....FIVE times at the cinema, 3 with the same friend, and another 2 times with different friends I pulled there. XD And proud owner of the DVD set.

Gosh.

I love the directing. I love the story. I love the bits of comic relief scattered around. I love the beautiful yukatas and hakumas. I love Kenshin's old fashion way of speech. And most of all, I love the action scenes! Having watched the movie inflight, I think the movie is best enjoyed on the big screen, where every fight sequence can be seen clearly. <3

So so so beautiful.

I hope for a sequel!!!!
