your caps makes and the convo I had last night makes me realize why Jung Woo seem to always try to grab her wrists..
Both Jung Woo and SoYeon traps in their 15 y.o selfs.. Like the waiting game on ep.7, he is not to blame for leaving the scenes after waiting for 28min and knowing that it was a pranked, but SoYeon can't digest it, she still think that he left her, just like he did when they are 15. And abounded her, not being faithful etc.. etc... And it's understandable, cause for them, all things stop in that time, and their relationship will always be based on that event..
The grabbing wrists also a symbol, cause he can't hold her strong enough and he let her hand go when they were kidnapped. And that results in her getting rape. He will always try to follow her cause leaving her is the cause why she is 'dead' (and missing).. Eughh.. I want them all to talk to someone :'((
I ship SY with both leads but as a viewer I know I still haven't completely forgiven JW for running away that day. I know he was young and scared but the fact that had it been SY herself I just know she'd never have run doesn't help his case. In a way, it helps me emphasize more with his character. He's living in a hell of guilt and will take everything she dishes out at him. I now understand the opening sequence of the drama better. I don't know if it will be the real ending of the drama but him dying in that warehouse (after finally standing his ground and protecting her?) would be coming back full-circle. I'm always trying to find ways in my head so that the OTP can have their HEA at the end but here I can't see it. I can't see JW move past his childhood mistake even when SY will have forgiven him. He'll always beat himself up over it

I had issues with Jung Woo at the beginning of the episode. I thought he was way too aggressive in his dealings with her. SY was uncomfortable and knowing their situation he shouldn't have pushed as hard as he did.
But really this episode made me see how problematic the Harry/Zoe relationship is and it was because of this:
(Ironically, if Harry didn't help and even encourage her to hide Soo Yeon and be just Zoe, she could have healed faster and maybe they could have been together). If Harry was really about what was in her best interests he would help her face her demons so that she could at least try to move on with her life. He enables and encourages her to "forget" the past because it means that she buries a time when she wasn't completely alone, when he wasn't her everything. When she said, "Tell me that I did well." I wanted to scream. Because it was his opportunity to tell her to face the nightmare instead of being trapped in a constant state of denial. And the irony, like you said, is that if he wasn't so utterly selfish and

Yeah I did too. Like, I have alot of issues with this drama in general tbh in how they are handling soo yeon's story as a survivor of rape and also abuse that she went through before that. But specifically in the beginning of the ep, the way he was acting with her was wildly inappropriate like, it would be wrong if she wasnt a rape survivor but the fact that she IS makes it 1000 times worse. Like we the viewers know he doesnt intend to harm her but does SHE know that? It was just giving me bad vibes and making me feel bad for her cause she is prob rly scared and uncomfortable. the sad thing is secondary dude harry isnt any better. he's awful in fact. I mean if anything I feel more bad for him than JW cause of all the abuse he also had to go thru and he's also disabled but like the way he's taking advantage of soo yeon's insecurities and damage to exert control over her is MAD fucked up and creepy and like ughhh. and I dont necessarily like the implication that jung woo is better cause he's not being a manipulative creep becuz imo

Hmm. I have a different take on that scene in particular (as well as a different view of the drama's handling of the issue in general, but I'll concentrate on the opening scene) and I've been trying to work out why. So I'll share my thoughts here and hope they make sense. :)
I think a big reason I didn't see the interaction between Soo-yeon and Jung-woo as abusive or inappropriate on his part is the honesty of it. He finally understands what her game with him has been (that she is Soo-yeon and that she's really, really angry at him), so he's playing back. And that's all that I see him doing: responding to her digs, expecting her to have the strength to respond back. She's wrong-footed yes (I don't think Hyung-joon has ever had expectations of strength from her so I think this is something new for her), and uncomfortable, but I didn't get the sense that she was scared.
And, I actually like that Soo-yeon is feeling uncomfortable. Dealing with all those buried emotions is an uncomfortable thing but she needs to do that to wakeup

Horridporrid, If you were wrong, that would make the 2 of us. At this stage HJW is very sure that Zoe is LSY (after having watched the CCTV footage showing her traumatic reaction to sighting the rapist). He feels LSY’s traumatic pain. That is why he is teary empathetically watching the footage. He respectfully lets her maintain her false Zoe façade. In the car going to a restaurant, he even call her Zoe as she wishes while at the same time he gives her past details such as her pink dress and so on. He is letting her choose to be either LSY or Zoe unlike Harry who insists that she should think of herself as Zoe. He is baiting her to blurt out “O.K. I’m LSY. You bastard! Why did you abandon me? You caused me all these years of misery”. He is coercive to aggravate her to confront her reality. His pushiness isn’t creating fear like her rape did. He is creating discomfort because the Zoe façade is getting hard to maintain. He is decisive enough now to follow his conviction that he can get LSY to confront herself. LSY reacts by

I like that JW had that moment of cowardice. Otherwise he'd be a pristine saintly drama hero and as it is, it's more complicated.
