Week's tally - it's rough out there, in dramaland!

I may be disappointed by Mary Stayed Out All Night and its upcoming unnecessary angst which makes no sense (listen, drama - if an angst junkie is telling you that you are better off without it, you probably are). You strong suit, MSOAN, are scenes like this:

But I don't think it would ever be possible for his kiss scenes to approach his levels of major hotness.

Unless they were naked kiss scenes, that is.

I love Mary - it's one of my favorite dramas of the year. BUT I'm only watching for MG/MR. These two are making my Top 5 OTPs of the Year list. However, the rest of the characters are either boring or insane. Well, the bandmates and friends are fun, but. . .only when drunk. Speaking of: MG/MR need to get drunk again. That was cute.

I'm holding off on SG.

Gloria. I'm so sad with the angst because YS/DA are such innocences, that it hurts me to see them in such pain. I want Creepy dead. I want his parents dead. I want YS's parents dead. I know it will give YS/DA angst and a better storyline, but I hate it, because they are both so miserable. I fear for their lives, actually.

I continued to think that a targeted bomb to KS' parents' residence when the family is in except for KS and it's the servants' day off, is the best solution. Maybe a gas explosion? Don't even get me started on monstrous parents of YS ( ... )

Now that I think about it, JJ/KS have been fairly drama free. Just some angst about the fake engagement and their siblings shared past. DA/YS are the star-crossed lovers of this drama. They have the most angst and the most to lose; it's rare for a couple that's not concerned the main one.

Creepy is so dense, he probably doesn't see that now DA has nothing to lose. He may just snap, but Creepy doesn't seem to think ahead.

YS will try to kill herself again for sure (I can't believe anyone in her horrible family even thinks of that).

They would probably blame YS for trying to ruin their lives. Why do they have such a selfish daughter, why? *rolls eyes*

And if she dies, DA will too. I am not even being overly dramatic.I know your not. That's what worries me ( ... )

JJ/KS will probably have more angst when JJ discovers of Creepy's role in her sister's condition, but yes, they are the less angsty OTP of the drama - YS/DA are totally star-crossed. No matter how bad things will get for KS/JJ, at least their lives are not in danger!

I think it makes me think of both Giant and Capitol Scandal - secondary OTPs there had way more angst than the main.

Creepy is so dense, he probably doesn't see that now DA has nothing to lose. He may just snap, but Creepy doesn't seem to think ahead.

Creepy just doesn't think much past immediate gratification (though his newest plan is fairly clever - it throws him back into succession game and gets Jin Joo off his back because KS/JJ are now free to marry if they so choose. Plus, he may hope even KS will leave him alone now, happy to be out of the marriage).

Yes - I think DA and YS couldn't live without each other. For each of them, the other person is literally the only thing that makes life worth living (for YS more so than for DA though).

My solution for the secondary girl in M3 - whose name I have expunged from my memory - is the same as for Seul. Alligators. I detest deluded ex-girlfriends. The one in M3 hasn't dated him in a year, and still thinks she has the right to butt in to anything to do with him? Get real.

In SG, Seul not only dumped Oska but left the country, then came back and was trying to marry his cousin just to tick him off, as well as butt into his business? Get real! What's wrong with coming back to the country, calling up the ex and saying "Oska, here's what happened. I think I screwed up, let's start over." I can think of at least 2 secondary leads who did that, and while it didn't go anywhere, at least it gave them a semi-classy footing to start with instead of being a deluded bitch.

I must have mellowed out with the years, because nowadays I like most secondary girls (outside of a true headcase like in WUAS). I actually like both Seul (as you know) but also Joon (well, as much as I can like any non-main in M3 which is not well-written ( ... )

Nah, I felt the same way in Lawyers of Korea, when the ex came back after what...3 years. I was like...dude, totally deluded. You dumped her in a phone call from the airport and now you're holding the apartment over her to get back together? I think not.

I actually have about zero patience with the whole ex comes back after years with no word and wants to jump back in to the old life scenario.

See, I figure if the guy is proposing to you, then possibly you might want to re-think the overheard convo he had with the other guy (who is trying to get in your pants) about not being serious. Because you know - ring the size of Kansas + proposal = pretty serious. Possibly you might put the ring on the table and say "little man, we need to speak" not "I'm outta here."

Ahahahahahahaaaaaaaa! I would pay good hard currency to have this happen in a drama. Any drama. Seriously. I am giggling just reading this. Come on, drama writer, make me happy!

I guess I am consistent - I shipped the heroine of LoK with her ex. :)

Let me put it this way - if you dump someone unceremoniously, however valid your reasons, and come back 5 yrs later, you should probably not be surprised if they moved on. But if, for some reason, they haven't - I am all for you guys trying to make a go of it, it makes for a fun story.

I also preferred Hyun Bin with his ex over Sam Soon in MNIKSS so yes, clearly I am oddly consistent :P

i am giving Gloria a break. i feel like the story going round and round just to kill time till get to final eps. i think it would have been better if it was 40eps drama and not 50. i just can't see how they going to fill the 16 eps left.
I have a big problem on how YS and DA characters are written. it's like they have been living in a fairy tale before and not in real life. and this totally apposite the background they have been living. their innocent is not cute (it was at first) any more. it is more towards being simpleton and naive.
i will continue reading soompi and your lj to keep me updated though. ;-)

I'm on episode 3 of Gloria (on your recommendation!) and I really like it so far, it's really different.

I hope MSOAN doesn't go down a really bad route, I hate giving up on dramas mid-season. :/
