Week's tally - it's rough out there, in dramaland!

I may be disappointed by Mary Stayed Out All Night and its upcoming unnecessary angst which makes no sense (listen, drama - if an angst junkie is telling you that you are better off without it, you probably are). You strong suit, MSOAN, are scenes like this:

I love Mary - it's one of my favorite dramas of the year. BUT I'm only watching for MG/MR. These two are making my Top 5 OTPs of the Year list. However, the rest of the characters are either boring or insane. Well, the bandmates and friends are fun, but. . .only when drunk. Speaking of: MG/MR need to get drunk again. That was cute.

I'm holding off on SG.

Gloria. I'm so sad with the angst because YS/DA are such innocences, that it hurts me to see them in such pain. I want Creepy dead. I want his parents dead. I want YS's parents dead. I know it will give YS/DA angst and a better storyline, but I hate it, because they are both so miserable. I fear for their lives, actually.

I continued to think that a targeted bomb to KS' parents' residence when the family is in except for KS and it's the servants' day off, is the best solution. Maybe a gas explosion? Don't even get me started on monstrous parents of YS

Now that I think about it, JJ/KS have been fairly drama free. Just some angst about the fake engagement and their siblings shared past. DA/YS are the star-crossed lovers of this drama. They have the most angst and the most to lose; it's rare for a couple that's not concerned the main one.

Creepy is so dense, he probably doesn't see that now DA has nothing to lose. He may just snap, but Creepy doesn't seem to think ahead.

YS will try to kill herself again for sure (I can't believe anyone in her horrible family even thinks of that).

They would probably blame YS for trying to ruin their lives. Why do they have such a selfish daughter, why? *rolls eyes*

And if she dies, DA will too. I am not even being overly dramatic.I know your not. That's what worries me

JJ/KS will probably have more angst when JJ discovers of Creepy's role in her sister's condition, but yes, they are the less angsty OTP of the drama - YS/DA are totally star-crossed. No matter how bad things will get for KS/JJ, at least their lives are not in danger!

I think it makes me think of both Giant and Capitol Scandal - secondary OTPs there had way more angst than the main.

Creepy just doesn't think much past immediate gratification (though his newest plan is fairly clever - it throws him back into succession game and gets Jin Joo off his back because KS/JJ are now free to marry if they so choose. Plus, he may hope even KS will leave him alone now, happy to be out of the marriage).

Yes - I think DA and YS couldn't live without each other. For each of them, the other person is literally the only thing that makes life worth living (for YS more so than for DA though).

That's true! Everyone else seems to know about Jin-Joo and Creepy's past, that I keep forgetting that JJ doesn't know. I think more than anything, JJ will be angry that no one told her. She's mature enough to know that KS is not his brother.

JJ doesn't know and neither does Yoon Seo (if she did, maybe she'd have some leverage. But if not, she'd marry him anyway even if it ups her chances of death, to protect DA).

Yes, Creepy never could get human emotions, being soulless himself. Yes, DA can love YS enough to free her from Creepy whatever it would cost him. Yes, KS and JJ are YS' friends so even if her marriage to Creepy would free them to be happy, they won't just let Creepy do whatever to their friend, etc.

If YS died, DA would drink himself to death very quickly, if he didn't go out and pick a mob fight just to get himself knifed/beaten to death. He won't even have to worry about the nephew since his father is back.

I really fear for her - Creepy could end up beating her/raping her before the end of it - he's that awful.I am pretty sure it won't go there, kdramas almost never do. But if this was in real life and she didn't somehow get out of it, then yes - he would definitely beat her and rape her as a punishment for not wanting him, for being utterly closed to

I think YS would do anything to protect DA. I think JJ would go straight to the cops and never look back.

That is very true. I don't think I've ever seen an OTP need each other more. KS/JJ - they are too mature; if they broke up (Please no!), they'd be depressed, but they'd go on living. DA/YS - not so much.

True. This isn't East of Eden or a Temptation drama. No one is raping or beating any women here. But, in real life or off-screen in a dark drama, yes I could see Creepy physically hurting YS. As it is he's hurting her emotionally and mentally. And, he doesn't care. He doesn't see the love. He just sees DA as being a "lowly street thug" and YS as being an object he can use to gain power.

Creepy needs to die. He really does. I thought (in early episodes - like the first 2 or 4) that maybe he could redeem himself, but after

I really wish JJ would know about some of Creepy's crimes - she's the only one both free and inclined to go to the cops.

Yes, KS and JJ would be miserable and KS would probably regress into that nightmare he was living before, but they'd survive. DA and YS - no way.

Oh, I have SO many issues with how that subplot of EoE was handled (equivalent of YS being forced to marry Creepy and then falling for him) so am glad Gloria is not going there. But yes, in RL, her life would be a nightmare. Because Creepy is incapable of caring for anyone and also because he seems to harbor an unhealthy obsession with possessing her.

I didn't mind Creepy at first and felt a little sorry for him but by now I want him to slowly die.

I haven't understood Creepy's obsession with YS since day one. She barely said two words to him on the plane, and yet he stalked her. He found her house, her name, and waited outside for her. At first, I thought that maybe she reminded him of his wife and/or Jin-joo; that he saw her as his redemption. But, after awhile, it just seemed like he wanted to own her; to beat his brother. To be seen as the best in someones eyes. But, I can't understand why. She barely looked at him on the plane. She told him she disliked him and to go away. I just don't understand why he's creepily obsessed with her.

I sort of get it - she's gorgeous and he's obsessive so he started the chase. But pretty soon it became about one-upping his brother and his outrage at being bested by some no-name thug etc etc.

I suppose that's true. But, his obsession is still scary.
