This show definitely is one of the better shows from America. I'm with you season 3 doesn't exist to me either, it just wasn't in the same flow as the other seasons.
I completely agree with you about season 3 not existing. I own the first two seasons but I will be damned if I pay good money for season's 3 destruction. Also, I abhorred season 3 Veronica, they tried really hard to ruin everything I liked about the show that season.
And yes, Logan and Veronica are currently very happy and in love somewhere out in California.
While it doesn't take the place, I found the 2005 movie Brick very much in the vein of Veronica Mars (noirish, set in and around a california high school, someone investigates the death of a troubled, pretty blonde friend), only the Veronica Mars-stand in is played by Joseph Gordon Levitt. I KNOW I KNOW, but it was on a bunch of top 10 movies of the year lists that year and is quite good if you want a taste of something VM-esque now that there are no new VM eps.
