Worlds Within love

Worlds Within is still my favorite drama from any country, and actually *gasp* my favorite bit of television from anywhere, period. I feel a rewatch coming on. I think I love it so because this is the closest I have ever seen a drama or a show come to depicting people like the people I know or can identify with. I am binging this weekend ( Read more... )

I've heard about this so many times but I haven't watched it yet... I do plan on it though. I started watching the first episode yesterday but I didn't get to finish it because I had some homework and I actually prioritized myself haha. xD

The leads are so pretty, how can it be bad?

It's really really good! First ep is a little muddled but by ep 3-4 it gets so good!

I just saw the first two episode of Chuno and OMG it's gonna make me into a crazy woman. I spent 2 hours deciding whether I liked Dae Gil. The conversation in my head went something like:
"Dae Gil! So hot! So crazy! OMG abs! OMG I love you."
"Dae Gil! You stupid asshole free the women slaves I hate you you are mean you have no soul"
"Dae Gil! You freed the women slaves I love you you're amazing you're awesome!"

LOL Jang Hyuk is sizzling in this role. They were talking about how it almost went to KJH and I went NOOOO because JH has just the right amount of crazy in his eyes to make it work. He's seriously a complex character and I love it.

And OJH seems like a good character so far but I already know I'm a DG/UN shipper, I know it.

Did they ever mention how LDH went from slave to not-slave? I know it had something to do with her brother but I think I missed it.

OMG YES YOU ARE WATCHING IT!!!

And yes, if he didn't rescue these women, I was going to give up on him.

Yeah, I adore KJH bot this role is so entirely Jang Hyuk's (plus, does KJH want to be in every slave uprising drama ever? :P)

Re: not slave. They mentioned that she was going to be sold by DG's Dad (after he rescued her from the Qing, I guess the family discovered the affair and weren't pleased by him being so attached as to risk himself) so her brother rescued her, set the house on fire, killed DG's family and did his best to kill DG, and then they ran away (UN didn't want to leave DG but bro gave her no choice). No idea how they got money though.

Yeah I honestly didn't think he would go back to them, not at all, which is when I started thinking, "Okay I guess I'm not gonna ship DG with UN cause he's an ass!!!!". I mean, he let a little girl become a concubine ( ... )

I officially gave up on analyzing people's tastes in drama as my new year 2010 resolution, as long as they are not saying "you are an idiot and if you like x/dislike y" or "your tastes are inferior to mine if you like x/deislike y". Such people I filter out - who is interested to talk to idiots? There seems to be such a kaleidoscope of tastes in this fandom that I seem to have intersections of one sort or another with EVERYONE but no-one has 100% same tastes with me.

The likes of dramabeans rub me the wrong way , the attitude of "I surely know better because I am bigger/whatever than you".

I don't think anyone is stupid for liking/disliking drama X but I do see it as a sign of tastes not aligning - if someone recommends a drama and that person and I rarely see eye to eye on dramas, I am less likely to check it out than if it's a person with whom I share a majority of tastes. It makes for a handy reference shorthand.

Hmm, May be, I will be likely to take a rec from someone with whom I share likes/dislikes for certain dramas more easily, but with some reservations ( ... )

1. I like gushing posts - I sort of catch the poster's enthusiasm. But it certainly helps if there explanations/reasons given ( ... )

You wouldn't consider doing a communal watching a bit later on with this drama - like you are doing now with Bali? I am so swamped now, but would very much like to watch it after the Olympics. I sort know what happens and I have most the episodes and watched the last 2 episodes + the kissing scenes already. LOL

I would love to! Just give me a month or so - it's only fair for me to get though all the dramas I promised to watch in Bali communal watch exchange first :)

I'd be up for this. WW was never a drama I really wanted to watch since I kind of dislike both actors, SHK for Full House and HB for MNIKSS. Those dramas kind of ruined them for me, I haven't seen them in anything else since.

But SHR is in this and I really love low key dramas about real people without all the k-drama cliches so if it were a communal watch, I'd def join.

Maybe this will make me like SHK. It's kind of an irrational dislike, I don't really know why. Well, actually I do.

I have fond memories of Full House (don't judge me, it was my first kdrama! :P) but I loathed Kim Sam Soon with a passion - the only reason Hyun Bin wasn't tainted by it was because I saw and loved him in Snow Queen first.

I think it's crazy that MNIKSS had better ratings than his three other dramas I've seen and loved combined (Snow Queen, WW, Friend). I will never get that.

Friend is actually an amazing amazing drama - it's one of those rare dramas that's actually a work of art. SQ is a delicious angsty emo romance melodrama the way I love them, and I am obsessed with WW. But I still like to pretend KSS never happened.

I've only seen SHK in Full House and WW but never fear - if you disliked the loud and helpless character in FH, she is very different in WW.

You know how much I love this drama. I find I watch random episodes now and again just to remind myself of its awesomeness.

PS... LIke above, I'd be game for a communal watch.

OT: I'm watching what's up fox? right now. I tried before and hated it but now, I don't know, I'm quite liking it this time. Not bad so far. Plus both stars are going to be in dramas that I'm very into Daemul and Cinderella Unni.

I would totally be game for a communal rewatch.

I have Fox in my queue somewhere - mainly because I think GHJ is awesome in anything and I loved Chun Jun Myung in Fashion 70s.

I watched What's up Fox just a few months ago and totally loved it. Before that I didn't think CJM was anything to look at, but I'd totally go for a younger guy if he was anything like his Chul Soo - he made me go "awwww" so many times! It was one of those dramas you finish in the wink of an eye. Very enjoyable!
