Worlds Within is still my favorite drama from any country, and actually *gasp* my favorite bit of television from anywhere, period. I feel a rewatch coming on. I think I love it so because this is the closest I have ever seen a drama or a show come to depicting people like the people I know or can identify with. I am binging this weekend

1. I don't rely much on subjective recs (gushing posts of love), I am more reliant on posts where someone describes pluses and minuses of something and tries to be objective. Because in first case they are trying to tell me about themselves, in second - about dramas in question and also because when someone makes gushing posts of love this usually means that they are biased.
2. I don't really think of terms "let's align our tastes together", I think more in terms of "we are all special snowflakes". Also I (and this is just my personal preference) don't feel really good about "Like it or .." , "If you don't like it, then .. " statements, but again - this is just me.
3. Tastes change.
4. I like to discover dramas that no-one watches or no-one recs.
5. I don't really like pushy recs, from anyone, even people whose opinion I really really value (please don't tell anyone).
6. The best rec for me is to watch the first episode of a drama - when a new drama comes out, it doesn't take much effort for me to check the first episode.
7. I often scout for recs, but mostly to find new dramas I was't aware of.
8. Oh, also to update: I am also very visual , I think. For example - Tamra. I didn't really care that the ratings were bad and that no-one was watching it, but because everyone on the drama's poster looked so ridiculous.
Hee! This is a huge write-up of a comment!

2. But some snowflakes are more similar than others. :) E.g. a dramabeans rec is worthless to me because after years of reading her blog it's pretty clear her and my tastes almost never coincide. While darkeyedwolf and I seem to have pretty similar tastes so if she recommends something I am a lot more likely to check it out.
3. Yes they do. After the birth of baby for some reason I lost all interest in teen dramas.
5. :)
6. I acctually check potential dramas via MVs - I am lazy and MVs are way shorter than a whole ep :)
7. I actually don't scout for recs that often. Other than checking out what's currently airing, I most often go looking for dramas on topics/actors/PDs/writers I liked before/find interesting. This said, some of my favorite dramas came from recs.
8. YES. I can forgive a drama made on a small budget but hideous filming or hideous leads and I am out, and certainly if it's beautifully filmed, I am a lot more interested in it. (Side note - Tamra had the worst ads ever - the trailers and the posters were so atrocious I thought I'd never want to watch it in a million years. However, once you get past the first ep, it's such a gorgeous, lovely drama).

You see, i am the same as you, but for a different reason : darkeyedwolf's recs are usually very exhaustive and have a lot of objective information ;although she also includes her own feelings I can always differentiate between the two. So I can easily understand what the general drift of the drama is and would it suit personally to me or not. Dramabeans is a classic example of a person who takes her subjective feelings and tries to pass them as objective. May be some people don't notice, but I do. This is my less favourite type of fan among them all . There is another one like that on my friends list , whose posts about anything make me cringe because of this "I know better" attitude. Dramabeans is also prone to "if you are not with me you are against me" attitude that I am also very wary of.
