Oh no! Damn. I followed your posts on it (because I never mind being spoiled for dramas and this looked potentially interesting) and this must be heartwrenching, after falling so hard for this pairing. Heartbreak over characters one is deeply invested in is...GAH.
I am so upset, you have no idea! The thing is, I know it's a well-written and even logical ending (honestly, as soon as IRIS declared him an enemy, it was a matter of when not if, for him to die - it's like the Mob, you can never truly root it out). And so the sheer randomness makes sense - the off-kilter viciousness.
But OMG - I think Hyun Joon is my favorite drama character ever so this is - I am not really rational about it. And to do it just at the moment of OTP happiness is so brutal.
I suppose it could have been worse. He could have been shot in her arms. GRAH.
I'm sorry, but I just can't watch Iris now. I'm so glad I didn't pick it up while it was airing - I spend my life in an effort to avoid exactly this kind of ending/situation - because I simply can't handle it. GAH.
feel better though! (why does this remind me of Fanaa? much worse though) Take a day or a few hours off and then watch something else that is happy and which you love(preferably not a drama).
In some ways, Fanaa was worse because she had to kill him - I was worried it was going to go this way here - that she was a member of IRIS and he'd have to shoot her (and I bet if he did, he'd do it and then kill himself so...) But in another - Aamir's character deserved to die but not here...
ARGH GUH.
I am going to watch Dil Bole Hadippa tonight and cuddle extra hard to my husband.
ah yes - DBH is certainly high on the happy and low on the angst.
and it was better(replying to your below comment) for Hyun Joon to die I think - for some reason I always feel so devastated when it's the girl that dies because often the girl is portrayed as ultimately stronger while for the guy the girl is the entire reason of his existence and you know he'd never get over that(see Silence). but...:(
Awwww, sad to hear it D: I was really rooting for those two crazy kids. One of the few times I feel really convinced by a couple. (and that's just from your recaps!)

What happened to Sun Hwa I wonder...

Sun Hwa is OK - she got wounded in the 'protect the President' melee but survived.
I wonder if Sun Hwa and Seung Hee will now team up and hunt down and destroy whoever killed Hyun Joon. Yes please.
