Yeah - the ending made total (if bleak) sense.
Some people over at soompi are not happy but that's because everyone adored Hyun Joon :( (They have also for some reason now started bashing the Legend's ending and I loved that one. Weird).
I find it somewhat odd that the drama public (especially on soompi) sometimes misses the whole point of the ending, even when it is so IN YOUR FACE.
Everyone was weeping their eyes out that Dam Deok died at the end of "The Legend", poor director had to explain it to everyone - NO he didn't die.
And the next time someone mentions the ending of "Lovers in Paris" as an example of bad ending and tells me - "it was all her dream" I am going to scream! many of those people know Korean well so they don't need to rely on subtitles to tell them that the first couple was in the paper the second ( writer ) lady is reading. Yes, the ending of "This story has happened and it is happening and it will be happening again" is a bit .. how to say it.. unusual. BUT - NOTHING IS JUST HER DREAM.

Also, judging whether an ending is successful or not by whether a leading character lives or dies? Bizarre. It's either well-written or not.
