Loll!! I love it when you talk about Dumas ^^.

I didn't knew that there was new version of la Dame de Monstoreau. Probably for France 2.
I don't know if you read la Comtesse de Charny. That's my favourite from Dumas. Then again I love the all French Revolution plot.

I read only one of his French Revolution ones and actually the name escapes me - it was about a member of the revolution falling for a lady involved with conspiracy to rescue Louis XVI's son, and everyone (of course) died on the scaffold.

I need to read this one then.

It's funny, looking back Dumas is responsible for 80% of my fictional preferences :) Scary.

Dumas seems to have a thing for women trapped in bad/loveless marriages who find someone else.

I guess that way he gave his women characters more freedom to move in society (as married women) because if they were still single, they'd probably be restricted. Also, I guess since he wrote historicals, most marriages would be arranged so he had to work around that.
