I'm the same. I find him very likeable, but there's something awkward about his acting. He might be better at serious roles, but for some reason he keeps getting cast in roles where he has to exaggerate/be comedic and it doesn't quite work. I think his best parts in Tokyo DOGS are the verbal fights with Shun because there he gets to be exasperated, rather than silly.
Yeah - I liked him in the scene where he lit into the lawyer for dumping his kid - it was a serious scene and he was just fine in it. I find his comedy not working for me - either because he's stiff at it or (seeing he is popular in Japan with that routine) I don't share Japanese sense of humor.
Hiro is great. I just watched the first video now, but am really awed... His talking about Ayaka's fans, their feelings, and wanting to say sorry for hiding, etc. *applause* But what makes this really awesome in the first place is the guts he had to stand out before this many cameras. Oh, and LOL for the fact, that the announcer said and the beginning that Hiro was a bit late, cause of the shooting for Mr. Brain. X3
