Shall I admit to this or shall I not?
Oh, what the hell - for what is this livejournal but fangirling.
I have just spent the last half-an-hour cheering myself up by watching the press conferences where Mizushima Hiro and Ayaka announced their secret wedding. In Japanese. Unsubbed. And it cheered me up.
Help! I am not even a Hiro fangirl (most of the dramas he's in are too cracky for me, plus at 25, he's too young for me). But for some reason, the thought of Hiro/Ayaka fills me with glee, and not just because I always get faintly shocked when I discover a jdrama actor is straight :P It's just it's really rare to have a jdrama idol marry unless (a) they are getting to senior citizen status and require dentures and hair implants or (b) it's a shotgun wedding. I am still in shock it's neither of the two. So I am glad the marriage doesn't seem to have affected his popularity - because I think Asian entertainment weird rules/concepts about relationships of its actors/actresses are insane. Plus - it's totally like a drama, what with a secret wedding and then the announcement, and the whole 'she is sick and he will take care of her while she gets treatment' stuff. Or maybe I just like that he seems to have been willing to risk his career for her. Yay.
Anyway, I hope they stay married for years and years and also that Ayaka gets better and comes back to singing because I think she has an amazing set of pipes on her.
Oh, and I hope one of these days he will actually play a character I adore in a drama I like. So far Tokyo Dogs came closest (his character needs to be bopped on the head but I like the drama itself. It's better than Mei-chan where he was the only thing I liked, and I liked him a LOT, but the premise made me livid on every possible level).
