Also, it's official - there are some actors whom I will never watch - they've been ruined for me forever - I was thinking about the recently started Smile You. Normally I'd be all over a cute romcom Korean take on the Taiwanese delight "Corner with Love," especially since the ( Read more... )

I'm enoying Smile, You quite a bit. It's nothing special but it is fun. Granted - I don't have a problem with Lee Min Jung. I think she's doing a pretty good job (minus some horrendous crying scenes).

Yeah, I am just rather off on LMJ - plus it seems to be 30-50 eps and that's almost longer than any drama I've ever managed to finish.

I have to admit that 2nd teaser was almost, somewhat of a letdown, on the heels of the awesome, 6 min. long, spoiler-heavy making behind the scenes. But that's b/c that BTS feature was so d@mn good--they sure know how to edit & whet our appetites.

Here's the translation btw, if you're interested:

Baek San: You have a separate mission.

Kim HyunJoon: If what's happened to me was intended by someone...

Kim SunHwa: Ambulance!

Kim HyunJoon: ... I don't know why I had to be the target.

Park ChulYoung: We've found him.

Kim HyunJoon: As I went on the run, I called the person who betrayed me.

Kim HyunJoon: That I will return alive.

Choi SeungHee: Tell me! Deputy Director!

Baek San: Go home on the first flight.

Jin SaWoo: Why must he be killed? I'll rescue him & bring him back.

Baek San: If you keep wavering, I must abandon you too.

Heads will roll if IRIS doesn't live up to the hype. But the cast seems fairly confident. FYI, they've got 10-11 eps. in the can.

Thank you for the translation! If they have 10-11 eps filmed, I wonder if it's going to be a crazy time crunch to film it at the end - they've been filming for months already.

They'll probably, most likely film through their broadcast run, maybe even to the end, but if they're worried about it, they're not showing it. Sure, they aren't getting much sleep, but they're keeping their engagement & personal appearances outside IRIS, and both cast & crew seem fairly confident & lucid about what they've done so far & where they're headed. That seemed more obvious in recent weeks than at their first press conference last May, when it didn't seem like they had really gelled yet as a team. And given the scale & scope of IRIS, it may be pointless to draw comparisons with the other k-dramas on air or in production, but cast & crew come across as, well, efficient and competent. You don't see the cracks & tensions with some of the rushed productions, and it certainly doesn't feel rudderless. So I think they've got what it takes--a well-oiled operation--to meet the deadlines and not suffer the worst of time-crunches, but whether the end result will appeal to the viewers is a different matter, I suppose.

That's true - they do have a veteran team. Hope the quality of the script is good because if it is, we are really really set. (I was one of the few people who liked Lobbyist, but I wouldn't want Lobbyist mark 2).

I don't understand your Lee Min Jung hate. Unlike you, I thought she did a pretty nice job in BOF and I am actually very interested in Smile You.

Oh well, we can't watch alllll the same shows.

I just loathed her character but also it's when she came on-board that the drama truly started sucking. The makers had a huge fixation on her (not as huge as on Hyun Joong, but that would be impossible).

Plus, her acting didn't impress me. So, mediocre acting+character I don't like = aversion :)

Only a week until IRIS.
Can hardly wait...

I'd rather eat hair.
LOL! I had a nasty...real nasty thought upon reading this! hahahaha!

But the female lead is Lee Min Jung
LOL! I feel sorry for her and GHS. BOF ruined it for them with Kim So Eun as the only exception! hahahahaha!
