what in God's name was that?!

That was very GORGONZOLA.

But I just have to keep telling myself that this is a Hong sisters drama.

Hong sisters drama. Hong sisters drama. Hong sisters drama.

Hong sisters drama. Hong sisters drama. Hong sisters drama.

Honestly, I am clinging to that too! I loved HGD, My Girl and DGCH (Fantasy Couple wasn't my thing, but it was well-made) so please don't let it be their first screw-up.

I mean - the teaser is horrifying.

Holy crap, it's like Mei-chan and Hana-Kimi fused together and I hate it already. :dead:

Girl's will never look like guys. But guys can always look like girls. Whut.

You are the only one who understands my hatred of jHanaKimi and Mei-Chan! *clings*

The teaser was deisgned to make me not want to watch it, but Hong Sisters have yet to do a bad drama so I'll still check it out.

:glomps: It's because they're both laaaaaame. I like my dosages of ikemen, but in forms like that? Just. No.

I can understand a bias like that. I think I'd check it out more if a) I still watched Korean dramas and b) The girl was a convincing boy. D:

The trailer is horrible, but more cheesy horrible than worst. show. ever. horrible. I think because it is about a boy band making it big (and one of the members being a girl) they are trying to make it more 'fun' and 'silly' - just like a regular Korean boy band.

As you said, a thirty second trailer can be misleading. I've seen brilliant trailers for crap dramas and crap trailers for brilliant dramas.

I hold out hope that this will be a great show. Simply because it is the Hong sisters, the cast is wonderfully talented (or, at least the leads are - Jang Geun Suk can bring the drama, but he can also be really funny when he needs to be (see Baby and Me, Hong Gil Dong, and the trailers for his newest films) and Park Shin Hye can be really wonderful with the angst (see Tree of Heaven. I also heard she was amusing it Kimcheed Radish CubesAs for the rest of the cast. Well, the other two members of the fake group are unknown to me. I can't find anything on one of them and the other is a real life boy band guy, but he has been in dramas ( ... )

I found the trailer purely awful because if the drama was filmed this way with ottness and insanity, I'd be out - it gives me jHanaKimi nightmares.

But yes, they have a solid cast, an amazing writing team, so I prefer to believe the trailer is a misguided result of an effort to appeal to teenybopper BOF/jdrama loving crowd as this drama's only chance to do decently (pitting it against IRIS is risky, to say the least).

I agree, I think they are aiming for teens/the BOF crowd. Hong sister dramas do do well, (Hong Gil Dong did the worst ratings wise, and even that ended at 14.6%, while being a huge hit with the internet crowd), so there is a built-in audience.

But people have been waiting for IRIS for ages. IRIS is the comeback drama for several favorite actors in Korea. However, it does seemed more aimed toward the un-BOF crowd.

I can see South Korea families going their separate ways on Wednesday/Thursday nights - parents to IRIS and kids to You're Beautiful.

Just because they don't have a plot doesn't mean it's terribly bad.

I simply love slice-of-life, low on plot dramas when they are well-done (Worlds Within is my favorite drama ever and it doesn't really have plot, per se). My problem is when there is plenty of plot but it makes no sense and/or when the characters don't act in a way that resembles how humans would actually react.
