More jdrama than you can shake a stick at

So: weekend drama tally.

1. I have finished Romantic Princess, the twdrama from last year. I think I could feel my brain dying. The drama design was very cute (almost as cute as Wu Zun) but OMG...the stupid. It burns. I think my problem with RP was that in any good drama (or what I consider good drama, I realize everybody has subjective ( Read more... )

Yup, they include Shizuka's dance. In all honesty, while I never had a real problem with her, she never really felt "real" to me until that scene.

And for Hayami Mokomichi...the first time I saw him with an OTP(second thing I saw him in) she stood on a bed so she could kiss him.

Yay, the dance is in! I am afraid Aishteru will have to wait then. Yoshitsune it is.

Mokomichi is psycho tall. I think he is even taller than Oguri Shun.

ETA: what is this 'standing on a bed' drama you speak of? :)

I think Mokomichi may even be taller than Abe Hiroshi. I've never seen either one in anything where they didn't tower over everyone around. Parts of Trick are a hoot because Abe's so much taller than Yukie, but they had to get their heads close together somehow, and there's one part of Gokusen 2 where the students are all beat up and having to support each other, and Hayami literally pretty much picks the other guy up by the arm and drags him(I think he used a head as an armrest at one point, too.)

"Standing on bed" drama is Ame to Yume, where he plays the title character's crush/eventual boyfriend. It's great, but the romance is secondary...it's mostly a ghost story focusing on the father and daughter.

Yes, I liked it a lot! Everyone's so pretty. Except for Riiko's apartment, which looks like a bad 70s reno job. But it is huge (by J standards that is). I note you did not screencap it.

That apartment would have ruined the prettiness. Even after Night cleaned it up, it still was rather horrid.

Still, amazingly decorated and awesome compared to the apartments of the protagonists in Aishteru, both of which are just dark and sort of depressing-looking.

In RP, the reactions lacked any depth and emotion and the characters were not people, but a collection of superficial traits stuck on good-looking dolls. They did not feel real.
I felt the same way :) I think it was amusing in the beginning but towards the end it was just.. hmmm.. kind of dragging I guess. I have the complete set but have yet to finish it!
