More jdrama than you can shake a stick at

So: weekend drama tally.

1. I have finished Romantic Princess, the twdrama from last year. I think I could feel my brain dying. The drama design was very cute (almost as cute as Wu Zun) but OMG...the stupid. It burns. Yes, I totally agree with you on romantic princess. I just couldn't care about those characters enough to stick to it. As for ZK, I was totally worried about the robot like 30 minutes into it. Knight is so cute and sweet! I thought I wouldn't like ZK but I do! And soshi and the main girl are adorable too. And any jdrama that has an obvious love triangle (which means that the two boys are actually fighting for the girl) is a go for me. I find that most jdramas don't satisfy that need for me. "Love" in Japanese dramas have this hint of distance and suppression that just doesn't excite me. I want obviousness! Or a better way to portray that subtle love. I think itoshi kimi e satisfied that.

RP just ended up a whole lot of pretty nothing.

ZK, otoh, is soooooo adorable.

There are many jdramas that worked for me on romance front, and many that did not. It's a mixed bag (and oh, yes, yes, YES on the wonderfulness of IKE). This is rather different than with kdramas where almost always, whatever its flaws, the love story will work for me.
