We are half way through HGD, and it gets better and better by the episode. I love love GD and YN. She's so strong for him. But, Creepy Goth Girl has got to go. How selfish is her so called love? 'Give up your people, so you can be alive.' I don't care what her supporters say, that's selfishness. If GD has decided to do this, he's deicided. I love that YN respected it, and even cheered him on.
Uusually kdramas start to drag by now, but not this one!
I love love GD and YN. She's so strong for him.
And that is why they match so well. I think he needs her unconditional love but he also needs someone to stand by him and trust him (but also not blindly or stupidly, but because at base they share the same values).
And Crepy Goth Girl? Very selfish. She is not evil, but that scene shows precisely why they could have never matched, even if YN didn't exist: to do what she suggests would be completely repugnant to everything he is, and she can't understand it. She would make him weaker, not stronger.
I agree, Kdramas usually get boring half way through and stay boring until the third to last episode. (Usually three - five boring/semi-boring eps.) But, not this one! It gets more and more interesting and addicting. I honestly think this is the Hong sisters best drama to date, followed by DG, MG, and then FC.
Anyway, I do think GD and YN match so well, because they grew up the same and as you said share values. They have always shared a special bond, and it is only getting stronger.

Just terribly lonely and/or selfish people. Well, CGC is the selfish one, really. She may care about DG, but I think her "love" is totally selfish. She wants him to act/think a certain way. . . she wants that cool guy, but she also wants him to do what she wants and not think about
( ... )
Haven't seen FC but agree that this might be their best (certainly is most complicated, with themes not just the usual love stuff) to date.

I am totally worried about the upcoming revelation to GD and YN about not only YN's true social status but also the family enmity thing. Yikes. They keep making GD more noble in behavior so I am getting worried he will get all sacrificial. Argh. Both MG and DGCH for me had this one moment of such horrid angst for the male lead that I still haven't gotten over it (in MG, it's the scene at the end of ep 14 with Gong-Chan pleading with his grandfather and in DGCH it's the scene at the airport) that I sort of dread something of the same here.
The pix in this post are soooo pretty. Love the colors!
GD's hair annoys me to no end though. Kdramas are either really good at hair&makeup for their stars, or they are really bad. GD's hair is...not of the good.
"Do you know, I am getting the same irrational reaction I did every time Kenshin got his clothes torn (in this case, GD's are torn and bloodied). He is poor, he can't afford new ones, be careful! Heh."
AND KAORU CAN'T SEW!!!!
Can Yi Nok sew? if so, he's in a slightly better position than Kenshin...
Meanwhile, that nose ring continues to haunt my dreams...
Yi Nok can sew, if not well. She made him a totally hideous crude pouch into which she put soil from his Mom's grave (period drama, never leave me!) and he carries it around all the time because he misses Yi Nok. Awwww. So I guess she could do some stitching. Still, I mean, there are only so many holes one can mend :)
