Bride of the Water God owns me...

In manga news, I bought volume 19 of Red River. It's one of those rare manga with pregnancies. Yuri is pregnant with Kail's child. Now if it wasn't for those pesky invading Egyptians.

But my biggest, happiest new manga discoveries is actually a Korean manhwa Bride of the Water God. Take some gorgeous art-work, throw in some mythology, awesome ( Read more... )

Oh man...I've been meaning to tell you about BotWG for weeks...I haven't read my copy yet(havingh recently been severely scarred by straghtup romance and working on my recovery with more actiony stuff) but I keep flipping through it and thinking "mousie will love this"

It is so, so SO awesome. And at least vol 1 is pretty light on romance. I am so glad it was next to hanadan at the bookstore and I have been on a manhwa kick so decided to leaf through it. HOOOOOOKED.

Also, Joo Ji Hoon is so my image of the River God in the manhwa :) I am a sad fangirl ::P

It seems to be very heavy on mythology, and as far as I'm concerned, there can never be enough mythology based manga, shojo or shonen. *she says well aware of how many there are...it's like men with swords*

It is heavy on mythology but not incomprehensible. Hits a good balance. The celestial realm isn't much friendlier than the one in Saiyuki though.

It is so beautiful. The characters are awesome, too, but I space out staring at the artwork.

Oh, wow, that is gorgeous art. I'm not much of a "serials" kind of person (I prefer something that I can finish in a short period) but the stuff you post up are really interesting.

I'm liking the story of this one, too.

The story is awesome and I read spoilers for future volumes and it gets even better. It's like a kdrama :) And ohhhh...JJH. *thud*
