Bride of the Water God owns me...

In manga news, I bought volume 19 of Red River. It's one of those rare manga with pregnancies. Yuri is pregnant with Kail's child. Now if it wasn't for those pesky invading Egyptians.

But my biggest, happiest new manga discoveries is actually a Korean manhwa Bride of the Water God. Take some gorgeous art-work, throw in some mythology, awesome characters, and a pinch of 'MeruPuri' and we are set. Our heroine is chosen to be sacrificed to the Water God Habaek, so that the drought be over and the village has water. However, when she is led to be drowned, instead of drowning, she finds herself in the mythical realm of her 'husband.' Her husband? A grumpy 10-year old. Except that at night (the only time he can assume his true shape) he turns into a gorgeous, brooding hottie. Of course, our heroine doesn't know it, and he doesn't want her to know it, so he pretends to be her husband's cousin. Can our heroine be all unknowingly falling for her own husband? What's with the gorgeous, mysterious Hyoe, a friend of Habaek? What happened to Habaek's previous ceremonial/sacrificial brides? Can the politics of celestial realm get any more complicated? Oh, and what is with the future hints of delicious, angsty, massive hurt/comfort? Also, can Habaek get any hotter? Unlikely. Bring it on.

But the main love is the art, which is gorgeous beyond belief. This unspoilery MV shows just how gorgeous the art is:
