Yes, that's right, the baby hasn't made her appearance yet! She's happily growing away...I get contractions at night, mostly, and yesterday the midwife checked and said that my cervix has thinned but there is no dilation yet ( Read more... )

Are you having lots of SEX? That's what I was told to do, when Allegra became officially overdue. Apparently the hormone cascade and contractions can sometimes bring on labor. Bad earlier on, but good now....

LOL...yes! We have it in our "schedule" and we make sure to do it every night.

Last night I had the most hurty nighttime contractions after the sex, so I'm thinking it's working.

Definitely make sure Joel's happy about getting lots now, though, cuz he ain't gettin' any for 6 weeks or more AFTER. Heh.

Hey lady! Nothing here yet. I think it will happen when it will happen. I know your beliefs, however, mine are "it's baked and ready to come out of the oven." Let's get this party started.

OBTW- sex, acupressure, walking, I think just keep the mother occupied while waiting. It's all a myth! I tell ya! A Myth! 5 Os in 4 days doesn't not a baby deliver!

For me, it made a difference when *I* really lined up internally and externally that I was ready. I mean, within HOURS of my finally saying, OK, done with the waiting, worrying not helping, ready to move on now.

And while 5 Os in 4 days might not deliver a baby... at least you're having fun and being distracted! ;^)

I was thinking about how for a lot of this pregnancy I've been in disbelief that this is actually happening, and that this final waiting period may just be a way for my mind to finally be ready for the whole mothering thing. Plus, it's good to have this peace and quiet before the screaming begins. Of course, I've been living with a baby screaming in the house for 5 months now, but it's not my baby...
