There's one political leader in that series that has a history of outlawing abortion, believing in the inerrancy of religious prophecy, striving to kill inconvenient babies, rigging elections when the 'wrong people' might eke out a legitimate win, and supporting a 'shoot them now, shoot them later, then shoot them some more' policy.
