I'd like to request 8 more hours of weekend, please, if it's not too much trouble

So far today I have gone running, done the grocery shopping, cleaned the bathroom, and started on my first load of laundry. I am currently contemplating whether to try to get in some work or have this work week suck that much the more. It's quite the dilemma ( Read more... )

My work hell is not on the same level as yours, but I probably should have gone in this weekend. But then a co-worker made a comment to me about turning into another co-worker who all she does is work and it was kind of a wake up call for me.

Of course, I also planned to go out this weekend and enjoy the weather and have stayed in cleaning, catching up on fic writing/posting, and finally tackling the DVR overload.

Claudia! BSG! WOO!

I know! I don't want to be that person either. But it has to get done at some point, it's just a matter of when.

Like you I spent the weekend doing those household chores that I can't avoid ... laundry (3 loads) being among them. The vacuuming and the floor washing will have to wait (again).

And, your lamb stew reminded me that I have 2 boned out legs of lamb sitting in my freezer. Since I'm not a very good stew maker, I usually roll up my butterflied lamb leg with pesto and roast it in the oven. Sometimes, I cube it up and do a curry with Maesri green curry paste and a can of coconut milk and serve it over a nice basmati rice in the style of a lamb biryani.

This Easter I'm thinking of marinating the lamb legs in lemon juice, garlic, oregano (Greek style) and serving it with roasted potatoes.

Of course, I woke up with a terrible headache so my energy level just sucks and it's back to work tomorrow, I hope.

This stew turned out really well--it was thickened with a pesto made of walnuts, pistachios, almonds, olive oil, and garlic crushed up in a mortar and pestle and that gave it a really interesting flavor.

I am so excited about CB on Dresden Files. I think she is so amazing. She and BB were the reasons I opted to give Stargate a try.

They're also the reason I started watching Stargate. In a just world, neither would need to worry about finding work.

She was doing an American accent, which was rather odd when you're used to her regular accent.
